It's time to start highlighting some of the amazing clients we have!

And there's no better dog to start with than Dash.

Dash's owners came to us looking for help with fear reactivity and aggression towards people, reactivity on leash towards people and dogs, as well as gaining better communication skills with Dash.

3 courses later, I can say with confidence that Dash has made huge strides in all of these departments!

His time to get comfortable with new people is getting much quicker. He has been able to walk busy places such as Quidi Vidi, Bowring Park, and the downtown pedestrian mall. Most importantly, he even made his first real doggy friend with our helpful k-9 training assistant, Rue!

Hats off to Dash's owners for putting in the hard work and being consistent with all their training.

Akira and Charlotte enjoyed the SPCA Baccalieu Trail Annual Dog Walk in October! Andrew spent some quality time with Akira. As you can see by the expression on her face, she was thrilled! 😂 Both these beautiful girls are with the SPCA.

This year I am teaming up with the SPCA Baccalieu Trail in the Bay Roberts area for our third pet ornament fundraiser. The past two fundraisers have been very successful, and to date I have been able to donate $750 to them.

These ornaments are made from a photo of your pet with their name and a paw print on the back. They are $15 each and $5 from each ornament sold will go directly to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA to help the animals in their care. Payment required when ordering as these are personalized items. Pick up can be arranged in Bay Roberts, CBS or Paradise.

Deadline to order is December 10th or until I run out of ornaments (whichever comes first). There will be a 1-2 week turnaround for these. Please send me a private message if you are interested in ordering.

If you already have one of these ornaments, feel free to post a picture of it hanging on your tree in the comments - I would love to see them.🎅🏻🐾

Interested in helping an animal in need? The SPCA Baccalieu Trail is looking for foster homes.

We are starting our new foster program. We are fortunate to have our shelter which can house 40-50 cats and about 6 dogs…but sometimes an animal just needs a little quiet or extra TLC to heal or trust again.

If you have a quiet room that you are willing to share with an animal in need temporarily, please consider fostering. All vet care will be covered and all animal supplies can be provided by our organization.

If you are interested, please complete our foster application (see link below) or if you have questions, reach out to our foster group at [email protected]

Thank you for your consideration.

Meet Lucky!

She is a 10-year-old long haired Teacup Chihuahua that is looking for a new furever home. She originally came to our care when her owner went into palliative care. She is a super sweet little girl that gets attached to her owner very quickly and loves to snuggle. Lucky will sing to you when you “Whoo” at her, so cute!

Lucky is p*e pad trained and would benefit from a home that her owners are home most of the time. She does not like to travel in the car, she will cry and howl the whole time even when in a carrier.

She was not bothered by cats in one of her foster homes and she would bark at the bigger dogs when they walked by but that is all. We think she would be fine with either. She is also good with children of all ages.

Lucky is SPAYED and has some teeth pulled. She has an appointment booked to get more pulled soon. She received her first DA2PP vaccine and had an Interceptor deworming.

If you want to add this itty-bitty cutie to your family then click on the link below to fill out our adoption form: https://form.jotform.com/230175788619266

Please note that our shelter is open to the public Monday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm. Adoptions will operate by appointment only.

Meet Rosie. Rosie is just 4 years young.
This beauty is flying in this week and we are looking for the perfect placement for her. While she doesn’t prefer other dogs to be near, at all, she absolutely adores humans. Rosie is a big, goofy, girl. She loves food, playing with a ball, and sprawling out on the couch. She has a cute growl voice she uses while she wags her tail to tell you she’s hungry, wants to go out, or is hoping you’ll give her a little chase and play tug with her. Rosie is a love bug, fully house trained, and sleeps all night.
The ideal placement for Rosie would be one with no other dogs around or animals (she really is a attention hog). A place outside city living where she can relax and hang out and be happy.
If you think Rosie would be a good fit for your home, please fill out a foster application on our website www.rescuenl.com
(If you are already in our foster database and feel you are a good fit for Rosie, lease let us know.)

ADOPTED!!!

Meet Bower!

This handsome fella was surrendered to us as his owner could no longer care for him. As you can see, he was taken care of very well. He is only a medium sized dog weighing 40lbs and he is just over 1 year old. We were told he is a Setter/Chihuahua Mix but we call him a Mini Retriever! He is the sweetest little dog ever. Loves to play tug-a-war and fetch and he will sit and give paw for a treat. He will need a bit of extra training for better manors (jumping up to counters, jumping up to greet people, begging for food, etc.) but he is still young enough that he will learn those things in no time.

He will need to be neutered by his new family within a 2-month period after adoption. He was seen today at the vet for an exam and had his first vaccine. Since with us he has had a bath and nails trimmed. He did not enjoy “nail trim time” but it was certainly manageable.

Bower does well with other dogs, cats and children. As long as the children know how to respect boundaries with a new fur companion.

If you want to add this handsome boy to your family, then please click on the "CONTACT US” button at the top of the page to be redirected to our website where you can apply.

Please note that our shelter is open to the public Monday- Saturday 11am - 4pm. Masks are strongly recommended but not mandatory. Adoptions will operate by appointment only.
