We also share photos and stories of those animals to help get them adopted. Clinton Orr and his wife Jodi started a donor-advised fund in 2020, calling it the Pet Life Animal Fund. Both Clinton and his wife are long-time animal lovers who enjoyed having multiple pets as they grew up. The couple’s story began when Clinton and Jodi adopted a sweet dog named Bubba who had a difficult time in his earl
y life. Bubba was adopted from a no-kill shelter and proved to be an incredibly loving companion. The impact that this had on Clinton and his wife inspired Jodi to become a professional dog trainer, kickstarting what would eventually become the Pet Life Animal Fund. The two decided they wanted to get more involved with rescues to help other animals find loving homes. During this time, Clinton and Jodi realized just how little budget shelters had to work with, meaning some animals may not receive the life-saving care that they need. They began donating to rescues regularly before honouring the life of Bubba by bumping up their efforts. Animals that come to the facility often need medical care to be considered for adoption. However, these bills can take a huge toll on a rescue’s already slim budget. The purpose of The Pet Life Animal Fund is to help rescues across Manitoba cover those medical costs so every animal has a shot at finding a forever home. Clinton and Jodi are dedicated to seeing every animal that passes through a rescue door find happiness and family.
