🐾Our next Tender Tails Pet Loss Group starts this October.

💻The group meets virtually and is available to anyone over the age of 19 living in an Atlantic Canadian province.

💻The group meets 6:30 to 8 pm AT on Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 12, Nov 19, Nov 26, Dec 3, Dec 10, and Dec 17.

In this eight-week program, you will meet others who are going through similar pain. Your feelings, thoughts, questions, and worries will be supported and honoured. You’ll find compassion and comfort for the journey ahead. Kathleen Dunbar, a veterinary social worker and registered veterinary technician, facilitates the group.

This group is for you if you are experiencing:

🐾guilt in the face of your heartbreaking loss

🐾 a flooding of painful feelings and thoughts

🐾a sense of emptiness

The fee is $200 (no tax) for eight sessions. There is a limit of ten participants.

Tender Tails is eligible for reimbursement with most extended health care plan providers, including MedaVie Blue Cross. Limited pro bono offerings are available for those who are unable to pay.

Did you know that your dog could be a hero?

Exciting news - we have launched a new partnership with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank, and we need your help finding superhero dogs to save lives!

The Canadian Animal Blood Bank is a non-profit organization, partnering with veterinary clinics since 1996 to facilitate canine blood donations from healthy dogs in order to provide quality life-saving blood products to dogs in need across Canada. The demand for these products in the East Coast has been increasing rapidly, and in recognizing this, the CABB is starting up in Nova Scotia!

We are beginning to recruit doggie heroes so that when the time comes to host a canine donor clinic, we are ready to go!

The kitty is back at home with her family!

This little kitty was found in the Lary Utek area this afternoon. She is very sweet, clean, and well fed but does not have a microchip. She has a small dot of white on her chest and a little patch on her lower abdomen.

Happy summer everyone! Please stay cool and help us by following the guidlines below.

We are fortunate to have four amazing veterinarians at Basinview Animal Hospital and Bedford Cat Clinic which allows us to get patients seen in a timely manner.

Unfortunately, we have noticed an increasing number of last-minute cancellations or no-shows for appointments. This has an impact on our ability to serve other clients and can lead to longer wait times at emergency hospitals. It is important to be respectful of our time and resources.

We kindly ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if your appointment needs to be rescheduled or cancelled otherwise we may ask for a deposit before future visits. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!!
