Congratulations to Diane Latrace of Brooks Ab on her big win in the NRHA Non Pro Derby at the Xibition in Claresholm Ab. Riding her good home raised 4 yr old gelding Wright To Bear Arms sired by SHINEY GOLDEN GUN.

We always stopped at the Care Home on the way back from shows to give Dad a report and show him the horses. It was more than a little sad not needing to stop this time. who started it all.

We pause to remember the life of SCHA Honorary Life Member Jake Braun, a man and family whose name became synonymous with the horse industry, particularly the Quarter Horse industry both in and outside of Saskatchewan.

Jake purchased his first Quarter Horse in 1959 and during his tenure with the SCHA he served as President in 1964 and Director in 1966 and 1969. So it is with profound sorrow that we share the news of his passing on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the age of 91 years. Jake leaves to mourn his wife of 66 years, Joyce, and his four children: son Brian (Vicki), son Blair (Rose), son Steve (Sheri), and daughter Marilyn (Stuart) Braun-Pollon.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday July 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. (viewing from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.) at Hillside Christian Fellowship Church, Beechy, SK. Interment to follow in the Neasden Cemetery.

In memory of Jake Braun, donations may be made to West Bank Bible Camp or Lucky Lake & District Health Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Outlook Funeral Chapel 306.867.8255
