Shane harvested this nice buck on a November Deer hunt with Patrick Enterprises Canada. A few grunt calls brought i this heavy rack 7 pointer. Persistence and lots of practice at the range for Shane made this a quick and humane harvest for this 205lbs North American Whitetail. Congratulations Shane on a fine buck. Shane included his wife and son in the processing and got the job done!

An update on the Fawn that was rescued by OPP officers and by-law officers in Cobourg last Saturday. Many people in Cobourg were reaching out to us for several days about this Fawn. We do not have the resources to go out and contain wildlife ourselves, but we give advice on the safest possible way to capture. We were impressed they were able to finally catch it as several people had tried.

We were able to clean and treat the wounds. We are also using our PHOVIA® LED lamp and gel, which releases Fluorescent Light Energy to help skin heal faster.
She is on pain medication and two types of antibiotics.

She is responding well to treatment!! We keep a mask (pillowcase that has been adapted) to keep her stress free. Deer are much calmer when they don't have visual stimuli. She tolerates our presence but is in heightened alert. She is eating, and we are hopeful.

Deer are prone to a disease known as post capture myopathy. So, it is not uncommon for them to die shortly after rescue. Fortunately, she seems to have been spared this and is thriving.

If you would like to support her care, she will need branches, both deciduous and coniferous. We need more for all animals in care, but she loves eating grapevine and maple branches so far.

We are looking for hard-working, passionate about helping wildlife team members! Must be able to work long hours helping in all areas of animal care for wildlife. WE NEED TO HIRE ASAP! WE HAVE HUNDREDS OF ANIMALS IN OUR CARE, AND ARE SHORT STAFFED.
Previous experience in wildlife rehab preferred. Must be rabies vaccinated and able to work with birds, reptiles, and small mammals!
