Over 50,000 Cats & Dogs Spayed or Neutered To Date

Quinte Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter serving Hastings & Prince Edward Counties. Each year we assist as many as 2200 animals in need. We provide a safe, caring environment for stray, surrendered, neglected or abused animals. We return hundreds of lost animals to their families, adopt out animals who are in need of a new home and provide medical care and other necessities for animals in distress. We spay/neuter to help with pet overpopulation and educate the public about animal welfare.

The average cost of care for the animals we receive far exceeds the adoption fees we take in from each adoption. This is because not enough people will adopt if we charge the full cost of care and we do not have the capacity to keep the animals indefinitely. It is because of this that we are required to fundraise to keep the shelter open to serve and protect all these wonderful animals.

The Quinte Humane Society has a number of fundraising initiatives throughout the year to help support these costs but the animals would greatly benefit from a predictable monthly income. In order to address this we have started a monthly giving program. Please consider making a small monthly donation through this program as it will have a huge impact on the lives of the animals in our care. If you would like to make a difference throughout the year please consider this generous option.
