Below is a rabies infosheet prepared by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT). As it mentions, rabies is transmitted through bites, scratches, and mucous membrane or open wound exposure to the saliva of an infected animal. Any mammal can get rabies.

🚧ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE🚧Please be advised of a road closure on Wellington Road 16 between Sideroad 15 and Sideroad 20 in Township of Centre Wellington for emergency road repair. Repairs have started Wednesday, June 26 at 8:45 am and are expected to end mid-Morning on Friday, June 28. No through access to emergency services.
