We had another fun weekend at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping.

We entered the costume team cup on Sunday for some added fun, and won best dressed as the McKendrick Minions.

A couple weekends ago we had the privilege of attending another outstanding show. The Step into Dressage Show at the Westerner in Red Deer.
All six of our students scored high and made McKendrick Stable very proud.

This show was extra special as our stunning homebred 4-year-old Canadian Warmblood mare, JJ (MHR Just A Star) got to come along for her first ever show. She did absolutely amazing. Ridden by our very own Ellie, who also had never shown before. These two are such a lovely pair together and because of the love for each other you wouldn't have been able to tell this was the first show for both rider and horse.
They scored a 66% in their very first test of the day, winning this class as well as her second class and they came in 3rd in their third class, ending up with reserve championship overall of the division.

This mare has an incredible mind, fantastic movement and is so easy and fun to work with. She is sired by Jethro Tull, standing at Elysian Farm, owned by Lorrie Jamieson. We can not wait for the future ahead of her.
Well done Ellie you did such a good job with her.

It's a piece of art!

We love our new outdoor arena cover. It is complete and we have been riding under these beautiful handcrafted logs. The atmosphere and the feel while riding or coaching under this handcrafted cover is amazing.

We would like to thank Gull Lake Golf Club for their generous donation, helping us make this dream of ours come true. If you are coming out this way this summer and love golfing we highly recommend paying them a visit. They have a beautiful golf course only 5min down the road from our stable.

It happened last night at 1am. With a little assistance Lily gave us this STUNNING black c**t, with a blaze and three white stockings. Both mom and baby are doing well this morning.
You can really see his sire Jethro Tull in him.
We are over the moon excited for what the future has in store for this stunner.

This foal has the same parentage as our outstanding 2020 mare, JJ.

McKendrick Stable will be starting to use a concussion management program.

Please check out our bulletin board when at the stable next and feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns or to get booked in for a baseline test.

We encourage all of our students to participate in this baseline test, which will be saved under each participants health care number and available to any hospital for comparison to an exam taken after participant is believed to have suffered a concussion.

We had a blast the last two weekends at RMSJ. The girls did amazing. Came home with five 1st places, two 2nd places, a 3rd, 4th and two 6th.
Even Matchu got to go to his first outdoor jumping show.
Everyone did so well.

Our little girl was enjoying the warmer weather on the weekend a lot.
She also wanted to show everyone that she does not have any incisor teeth yet. 🤣
The first set of incisors don't come in until 6-8 days after birth.

Thank you to everyone for a GREAT first day at our annual Spring Horse Show! 🎉🐴

Lots of prizes, amazing rides and fun with our horses 💜

The concession was open with wonderful selections of pulled pork sandwiches, taco in a bag, ice cream, popcorn and gourmet cupcakes (margarita and churro flavoured!) 🤤

Don't forget your cash for food purchases tomorrow and we look forward to seeing everyone again for the jumping, dressage and obstacles classes 🏆

We are all ready for the show this weekend! 🥰🐴

Remember, bring a spring costume (if you like) and arrive at 8:30am to get your horse ready! Classes will start at 9:00am with order of go, horses being used and where classes will be held (indoor or outdoor arena) in the barn by the tack room as well as the bulletin board outside the kitchen. Prizes and ribbons will be handed out once all classes have been completed 🏆

Concession will be available in the viewing area kitchen and please remember cash because it's cash only!! 💵

10% off all tack store items so don't forget to check out items available for purchase upstairs 🎁

Last but certainly not least... Let's have some fun with our horses this weekend! 💜
