I’ve been working with this dog for more than a month now 4 times a week. She is a lovely girl who was rescued approximately 1 1/2 years ago. For the first little while she was perfect but her temperament started to change slowly. This happens a lot with dogs that have been rehomed. She became fearful and her fight or flight response became aggressive. Between her owner and I, we have been working really hard to make her feel safe and protected. She felt very unstable, feeling like she needed to protect herself through quite aggressive behaviour. We needed to take back her power, becoming the dominant part of the team again. Through reiki, animal communication and lots of patience and love, we have turned a corner with both dog and caregiver and had an amazing walk in the forest alongside lots of other people and dogs. There is still work to do to make her a happy, physically and mentally healthy fur babe but I am so proud of both dog and caregiver today.

Little Willow has come to visit for a few days for some restrictive travel training. She walked on her leash today like a superstar. We are working on sit, stay, come and NO BITING with those sharp little teeth.

WARNING, 🤯 RANT POST:
Where’s the danger in pet food, really? ☠️ For decades we’ve endured mycotoxin recalls that kill thousands of pets: this time it’s 70+ dead dogs from feeding toxic corn 🌽. We don’t see manufacturers writing articles about the dangers of feeding mycotoxin-filled grain-based pet foods 🧐 that have been definitively linked to kidney disease, heart disease, liver disease and cancer 💔 in many species of animals.
The FDA has a zero-tolerance policy for salmonella in commercial raw pet foods, where’s the zero tolerance policy for toxic mycotoxin levels in dry pet foods? 😾 Why aren’t kibble manufacturers that use grains in their products required to test every batch for these poisons to keep pets safe? 🤑🤬
