Is your household considered "low-income" - for example single parents, low income households, young persons recently moved out on their own.
Stop the clinic for referral to the Spay & Neuter Clinic being held August 31, 2024. THERE ARE A LIMITED # of spaces available!
WHY SPAY?
Spaying or neutering animals is important to prevent unwanted litters and over-population. In addition, it also provides health benefits - including eliminating the possibility of pyometra (an infection of the uterus) and reducing the chance of your pet getting some types of cancers. It eliminates heat cycles in female pets, and reduces male behaviors - including roaming, and marking - in many cases.
Pets do need to meet the following criteria:
- Patients must be between 4-months and 7-years of age.
- Pets must be bright, alert, and responsive - showing NO signs of illness on the day of their procedure.
- No new or chronic health concerns will be addressed (for example lameness, coughing, itching, GI upset, etc.)
- Patients must not have been used as a breeding animal in the past (where kittens or puppies resulting from litters were exchanged for money to purchasers).
- Maximum of 3 patients per household will be accepted.
- In male patients - BOTH testicles must be descended.
- Cats will be required to arrive in a carrier.
- Dogs must be leashed and non-aggressive to humans.
This is not a FREE PROGRAM - there are costs involved.
