Route 430 and 431 through Gros Morne National Park offers some magnificent views at all times of the year. Travelling through the park in the winter is a unique adventure that few get to experience. Here are some tips for keeping your winter drive safe for you, other road users, and the wildlife in the park.

❄️Be prepared for a variety of conditions in the winter – blowing snow, wind and freezing rain!

🐌Obey the posted speed limits, and reduce your speed to remain at or below the speed limit depending on the road conditions.

🧊Watch out for black ice, especially on bridges and near water.

🌙Be cautious at dusk and dawn, when animals may be active and visibility is poor.

🦌If you see an animal by the road, slow down and warn other motorists by flashing your hazard lights.
