Appointments will be available from 10:00a-2:00p. The cost is a minimum donation of $10 and proceeds will go to a charity tbd.

Another successful Farley Foundation fundraiser this year. Thanks to everyone who purchased one of our creations, and those who created such amazing Halloween pumpkins. A special thanks to Willow Creek Farms and Price's Country Market for donating the pumpkins that allowed us to make our Halloween creations.💕

Farley Foundation Fundraiser! The pumpkins are available again this year. For a minimum donation of $10, your favourite pumpkin can decorate your steps this Halloween. Come on in, they go fast!

It’s that time of the year again where the BVC staff get crafty!

For a monetary donation you too can be a proud owner of one of our personally decorated pumpkins!

All donations will be going to the Farley Fund; The Farley Foundation helps low-income pet owners in Ontario by subsidizing the cost of non-elective veterinary care for their sick or injured pets.

Pumpkins will be available as of tomorrow (Friday)- get yours while supplies last!

♥️Another successful Terry Fox Run by our ‘Who let the dogs out’ team! To date we have raised over $3000. This year we had our office manager Sandra in our hearts. Sandra was hilarious, caring, empathetic and a force to be reconned with. We know she was cheering us on from above 😇

The Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic staff are participating in the Terry Fox Run this coming Sunday. This year is particularly close to our hearts as we honour Sandra McBride, who recently lost her battle to pancreatic cancer. She dedicated 18 years to us as the Hospital Manager, her quick wit and remarkable sense of humour never failing to uplift anyone's spirit.

In remembrance of Sandra McBride, who passed away on the morning of Tuesday, June 18th, we honour her memory.
Sandra dedicated 18 years to us as the Hospital Manager at Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic, where she was a fearless leader and a passionate advocate for her staff. Her unwavering commitment earned their loyalty, fostering an exceptional clinic culture. Known for her remarkable sense of humour and quick wit, Sandra had an unparalleled ability to uplift anyone's spirits. Her vibrant presence made her the heart of every gathering, drawing people to her naturally. Sandra cherished her pets deeply, including Enya, her gentle and blind Irish Wolfhound, her beloved cat Pierce, and Dorian, her Lilac Crowned Amazon.
The loss of Sandra McBride leaves our hearts profoundly broken. Her contributions to our community will live on forever.

Keep 'Em Cool and Hydrated 💦

Surprisingly, many dogs don't self-regulate their playtime and can easily overheat, especially short-nosed breeds like bulldogs and pugs.

Ensure your dog takes breaks in the shade and always has access to water!

For all our travelling clients:
Effective August 1st there will be some significant changes to transporting your dogs across the United States boarder.
- All dogs must be microchipped
- All dogs must be vaccinated for Rabies or have titer test results to prove protection – this must be done after the microchip is implanted to be considered valid.
- You must complete a CDC dog import form which includes a photo of your dog
- You must travel with 6 months of veterinary records in most cases
- You must have a completed certificate for travel completed by a veterinarian and then signed by an official veterinarian of the CFIA.

Starting on August 1, 2024, dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet new, specific requirements depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. and where they received their rabies vaccines (if required).
