This past weekend was an amazing experience, the weekend started off on a disappointing dressage day wherein Gambit and I still need to work on things. But after Friday it could not have gone smoother, Gambit jumped a beautiful double clear Show Jumping round on Saturday. And then went on to jump clear (with some time) around a challenging XC track which caused its very fair share of problems!
I am just thrilled with this horse and how much he tries, not one question or hesitation or withholding of talent, he is truly special.
A huge thank you to all my supporters for helping me to complete our second career 4* at the Arville Nations Cup! I can’t do it without a whole team of people behind me, thank you to you all!

Shannondale Gambit and I have officially completed our first competition of the season here in Westerstede! We ran around the 2*S here and gambit was super in all three rounds. He put in a solid dressage test, double clear showjump round and just a few seconds over time in cross country, always the reliable and incredibly fun horse he is!

We had such luck with the weather and the organisation went above and beyond to make the show a great experience for everyone. Flip just keeps getting better and better and after a loooong winter break with lots of low impact training and focussing on the basics he’s come back fitter, stronger and above all happier than ever! An abundance of extra energy in the dressage resulted in quite a few expensive mistakes - but the form was good and for the first time I could feel in the ring the potential and the feel that we have at home. The marathon in Exloo was a serious technical challenge and cost me quite a bit of sleep, but after starting off a bit reserved we took it up a notch every obstacle finishing with the fastest times in obstacle 5 and 6 and the second fastest in 7. That line in obstacle five into the A was absolutely insane and Flip attacked it like it was nothing! We closed off Sunday with a double clear in cones which was the cherry on top of the weekend 🍒. It was amazing spending the week with so many friends and our sweet Milly thinks that being a horse show dog suits her quite well. As always, can’t do it without you @xmeikep and the home team @efaa1986 and Frank van de Vegt. And thanks to @camillasygall and Jeroen Houterman for keeping me sharp and pushing me to be better. My carriages once again gave us the winning edge and couldn’t be more thankful to have such a great working relationship with @benningtoncarriages @suemartcarriagedriver .
