The Heart of Embleton 🐾

Behind every calm exam and healing hand,
Is a team that quietly helps us stand.
A well-oiled machine, steady and true,
Built by the many—but powered by you.

Chantel, our Cinderella, before dawn’s light,
Doing the work that keeps everything right.
From floors to flow, from task to task,
You carry the load no one thinks to ask.
Because of you, the clinic is ready to care.

Erika, my right hand from the very start,
The mind of the hospital, the keeper of heart.
Clients, inventory, rhythm and pace,
You hold it together with strength and grace.
Nothing runs smoothly without your lead.

Priya and Eushauna, skilled, steady, and kind,
Gold-standard medicine guided by mind.
AAHA care, surgical skill, nursing so true,
Every patient is safer because of you.
You are the hands behind every success.

Different roles, one purpose, one team—
This hospital is more than a dream.
As we step into 2026 side by side,
I am grateful, humbled, and filled with pride.
Embleton is what it is—because of you. 💙

So grateful to have played a role in the lives of so many loved pets, and one of my most memorable TCVM stories, is that of Oscar. The world is yours, Oscar. Thank you S&S for entrusting him in my care 🩵 I am fortunate to continue on this journey with Oscar in 2026 🙏

Oscar, the husky with eyes like the sky,
Came in one day, a slow, heavy sigh.
Legs that once danced now stiff and sore,
Arthritis had crept through his every pore.

Dr. Nadia looked closer, concern in her eyes,
A shadow within, a daunting surprise.
A renal mass whispered a frightening tale,
Renal cell carcinoma, a stormy gale.

Emergency called for a gentle goodbye,
Yet his family’s hearts refused to sigh.
They chose a path of care, wise and true,
TCVM’s touch, a life to renew.

Days have passed, with courage ablaze,
Oscar still greets the sun’s golden rays.
Each step a victory, each breath a song,
Facing the odds, brave and strong.

An old dog doesn’t mean it must expire;
Every heartbeat still carries desire.
A husky, a fighter, a spirit so bright,
Turning shadows of fear into beams of light.

✨ New Year’s Eve Hours – Embleton Veterinary Hospital ✨

We’ll be open New Year’s Eve from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Please plan ahead and pick up any medications, food, or refills before we close to keep your pets comfortable into the new year.

🎆 Fireworks Safety Reminders
Fireworks can be very stressful for pets. Keep them indoors, ensure doors and gates are secure, and provide a quiet, safe space away from noise. If your pet has a history of anxiety, now is the time to use any prescribed calming medications or strategies.

🔍 Microchip Check
With increased noise and activity, pets are more likely to bolt. Make sure your pet’s microchip is registered and that your contact information is up to date—it’s one of the best ways to ensure a safe return if they get lost.

Thank you for trusting us with your pets this year.
Wishing you and your furry family a safe, calm, and happy New Year! 🐶🐱✨

🐾 Winter Nose in Dogs: What You Need to Know! ❄️

Noticed your dog’s usually black nose turning a bit brown or pink this winter? Don’t worry—it’s likely just a Winter Nose!

What’s Happening:
• Cold weather can temporarily reduce pigment in your dog’s nose.
• Black noses may lighten to brown, pink, or tan.
• This is normal and usually reverses in warmer months.

Breed Predilection:
• More common in breeds with black noses, including German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and Siberian Huskies.
• Genetics can make some dogs more likely to experience seasonal nose changes.

What to Watch For:
• Nose should remain smooth, moist, and healthy ✅
• No cracks, sores, bleeding, or discomfort ✅

When to Seek Our Advice 🩺
Contact your vet if you notice:
• Sudden or rapid color change
• Nose is dry, cracked, sore, or bleeding
• Patchy or uneven depigmentation
• Any other signs of illness (lethargy, loss of appetite, skin changes)

Tip: If your dog’s nose gets dry or chapped, a vet-approved nose balm can help keep it soft and healthy.

Enjoy the winter walks, and remember, a little seasonal nose color change is usually nothing to worry about! 🐶💛
