⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️

Are you planning to travel during the holidays? Please be aware that parts of Southern Ontario are being impacted by a canine parvovirus outbreak.

Currently, a total of 34 dogs have been diagnosed and 18 dogs have now died. The outbreak has been linked to two parks in London, Ontario and has been spreading since this time.

Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that causes intense vomiting and diarrhea, which leads quickly to dehydration. Any parvovirus-positive dogs should be isolated immediately to stop the spread of the infection. Treatment is based primarily on supportive care, such as fluid and electrolyte therapy, nutritional support, anti-emetics, and antibiotics.

Let's find Bob a home before Christmas!!
We had the pleasure of seeing Bob today for xrays. All is well with him. He just has a bit of tracheal inflammation from pulling on a leash. That said though, he was an excellent patient. Although rambunctious he never was anything but happy through it all. He loved the attention.
Bob has been at Brampton Animal Services since March of this year. Unfortunately when possible adopters go to meet him, he is quite boisterous. He jumps up, he has trouble settling down, but this is to be expected of a young dog who is just so happy to meet you. Thankfully, he is food motivated so that will help with training.
What does Bob need, a home with a patient owner and a fenced in yard. No young kids, dogs or cats as these may be too much for his excitement level. Preferably big dog experience. Although Bob isn't a large dog, he is a strong dog. If you feel yourself or someone you know might be a good fit for Bob, please reach out to Brampton Animal Services at 905-458-5800 to make an appointment to go meet him. Even if you don't take him home, he would love visitors. Best wishes Bob.
