Thanks to the folks at Boehringer Ingelheim, we are able to offer a limited number of FREE equine Cushings tests from now until the end of October!
Cushings (PPID) is most often found in horses over the age of 10 with an estimated 15% of aged horses being affected.
Clinical signs of Cushings include:
- increased coat length and failure to shed during summer
- weight loss, muscle wasting
- increased appetite and thirst
- lethargy
- increased sweating
- laminitis
Diagnosis is based on history, clinical signs, and hormone (ATCH) testing.
Cushings can be managed medically to reduce clinical signs and improve quality of life. However, this disease is not curable.
If one of your horse’s is experiencing symptoms suggestive of Cushings, call the office at 204-727-7807 to book an appointment to have it tested! Please note that mileage fees still apply.
