Our facilities are suited for both disciplines of Western and English riding. We also rent out our facilities for equine shows, 4-H, clinics, schooling shows, and like to hold a few “Fun” shows of our own!

We learned a lot this weekend at Manitoba Pony Club camp!

We spent a lot of time reconnecting with distant friends and making new connections.

Learned how to fall safely from a horse, and when to call a vet if your horse is injured.

We also learned a horses heart is approximately 8.5lbs in contrast to their brain which is approximately 1.5lbs.

A huge thank you to Pathology and Ponies, Elders Equine and InterVarsity Circle Square Ranch Spruce Woods for making this a memorable weekend.

Beware of the blowing snow today!!

This afternoon we have pony club activities.

First off.. what exactly is pony club?
Canadian Pony Club is a member-based association, managed by volunteers, mandated to serve the needs of Canadian youth, ages 6 to 25 years of age and adults (21 and up), who are interested in learning about and/or caring for horses or ponies. Canadian Pony Club is incorporated as a national not-for-profit organization, and carries Canadian registered charity status.

Now that I’ve bored you with that technical mumbo-jumbo. Basically pony club is a gathering of like-minded individuals to learn all about horses.

We meet on a bi-weekly basis at the stable on Sunday. Since we range in ages and skill levels, sometimes we split into different groups for learning and sometimes we do a big group activity.

We do not ride during our pony club activities. We focus on the Stable Management side of things, which means everything to do with the horse outside of riding it.

Sound interesting to you?

Another cold day means cancelled lessons and extra herd checks.

How do you like to stay warm on a cold day?

We enjoy watching the horses play from INSIDE the house, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket!

It’s SUPER cold out there! Be sure to put on your big coat today!

An extremely sought after course that hasn’t been offered in Manitoba in MANY years.

We are very excited to be hosting the Vertebral realignment course!

This course is very intense. Be prepared to have hours of precourse homework and hours of homework each night. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Equine Massage therapy course which we are hosting in June is a prerequisite for this course. Muscles move bone, so it is imperative that the soft tissues are worked upon prior to adjustment work.

Pony Tales!

Another great academic program geared towards literacy skills for those grade 1+

Pony Tales integrates social-emotional learning with academics; thus allowing students to see and experience reading with their entire mind, body and emotions by creating metaphors for the skills involved in reading.

Students interact with horses from the ground, while using toys and props to identify obstacles and learn five critical reading skills- phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.

Message us to become a successful reader in 2025!

Another ground program is Hoof Beats.

This program is suited for those who need assistance with math. It takes a different approach by putting the horse at the center of the learning. You’ be surprised how fun math can be when its all about horses. Concepts used are targeted at grades 4+.

Making sure you’re on time for the horse show, measuring how tall your horse is, using fractions to measure feed, multiplication for average heart rate. These are all are equations that are used regularly at the barn and with recognition will allow you to become proficient with their application.

Message us to learn how to join Hoof Beats program in 2025!
