What a great show day for the show team today! ♥️

Romeo’s first debut at a show under saddle was super successful bringing home almost a box of wine, Calli and Apollo with huge improvements in their divisions, Laura taking Monty through the hack divisions with many ribbons and Autumn taking a tumble but kicking butt showing both Monty and Apollo.

Thank you to our great supporters my husband Dylan, Carly, Bonnie and Dave. It makes the shows just that much more fun and easy!

Super fun day at the Summer Solstice Series. Coming home with many lovely fall ribbons, wine and prizes.

Elyse getting back in the saddle in the hack classes bring home two firsts and four seconds.

Calli and Apollo bringing home a 2nd four 3rds and two 4ths in the hack and poles division. After a last minute decision also taking home three 2nds in the cross rail division.

Laura and Monty bringing home a 1st, 2nd and two 4ths in the pole division. Monty braving the jumps again.

It’s not very often if at all that we make posts like this. For those of you that had the opportunity to meet Whisper knew what this little mare has undergone.

We bought her as a project resale under the impression that she will need some corrective farrier work/rehab first. What we didn’t know was the extent of the damage going on inside her front hooves.

After multiple farrier/vet visits and finally getting X-rays to see what was going on internally, we came to the decision that she would never be able to live a pain free life even just as a companion horse. Due to that we unfortunately had to do what was best for her and euthanize Whisper yesterday.

Even after such a short period of time getting to know her, it’s crazy how much it still breaks your heart. Knowing that she never had a chance and her previous owners just gave up on her. There’s so much to her story and we enjoyed our very short time with her given the circumstances ❤️

We’d like to thank our barn family for helping and supporting when needed and our awesome vets and farriers for their hard work and dedication.

🐴A little late post but what a fantastic show at the Summer Solstice Series

🦄Little Ava’s first show with “Mini Me” coming home with two 2nds and a 4th in the in hand class.

🦄Elyse and “MC Royal Romance” coming home with a 1st and two fourths in the in hand.

🦄Calli and “MC Batteries not Included” bringing home five 5ths and a 6th place ribbon in her in hand class and w/t hack. Great first show!

🦄Laura and “MC Gamble on Love” bringing home a 2nd, 5th and 6th place in the w/t hack class!

🦄Morgan with “MC Batteries not included” and showing “MC Gamble on Love” had so many ribbons in their w/t/c hack and cross rail division, including bringing home a 1st place ribbon in the road hack!

🦄Emma and “Tiz Tap Tango” brought home a 2nd, 4th and a 6th in the cross rail division with speed to spare 😂

It’s been a long two weeks waiting, but we finally get to welcome Romeo to the McConnell Equestrian family!! 🦄❤️🥰

For those who remember Arya our Friesian mare that we unfortunately lost in January this year…this is her grandson! His registered name is Licorice GLF and we’re looking forward to growing as a team with him.

Thank you to our wonderful barn family for being a supportive group through the difficult time and this new fun experience!

🦄🦄Summer Day camps🦄🦄

9am - 3pm

Available dates;

July 3rd - 7th
July 17th - 21st
July 31st - Aug 4th
Aug 14th - 18th
Aug 28th - Sept 1st

Children will be given the opportunity to learn about patience, compassion for another being, responsibility, sportsmanship and socialization. Realistic goals are set out for each student and achieved throughout the week with the support of our volunteers and staff.

Activities include:

* Horsemanship
* Horseback riding lessons
* Farm Management
* Animal Husbandry
* Crafts
* Photography
* Games
* No more then 10 campers
* Paint the pony and many more…

Our camps focus on learning about all farm animals and animal husbandry. Campers will not only get to ride horses and learn about their care each day, but also experience care for our other animals (dogs, cats and goats) Bring your inner cowboy/cowgirl! Campers will ride in English saddles as well as western saddles. Campers will be challenged with appropriate riding level activities with fun games in the saddle and out of the saddle!

Camp information:

* Times: 9:00 am- 3:30 pm. Early drop off and late pick up are available at a extra cost
* Cost: $350 for the week (Monday to Friday)
* What to bring: water bottle, boots (with at least an inch heel, pants to ride in, lunch, and dressing suitable for the weather
* Preregistration is required, non-refundable deposit required to hold a spot. Registration forms and waivers to be filled and signed before the first day of camp
* For ages 6+
* Beginners welcome!

“Calais Cove” and Madison Lacey bringing home 2 seconds, 3 thirds and a fourth place in their two divisions with a successful first debute off property in the 2 foot division.

Never thought I’d be writing this post so soon and it’s absolutely devastating. Arya is my heart horse and my dream horse, we will miss her so much. She has come leaps and bounds from the day we got her. She was so willing and worked her heart out for me. I’m so honoured to have had such an amazing show season with her last year and she earned her retirement. She’s the logo to our business and I wouldn’t change it. She will be greatly missed by so many people and we will miss her boops (kisses) the most. I can’t thank Arya enough for everything she gave me. May she rest in peace🦄t
