Onto a happier note
✨Introducing✨ L U C Y
We let you guys know a couple of months ago that unfortunately we were no longer going to be able to offer boarding in our home as we had another dog moving in. I guess it’s about time we introduce the reason why. Although Lucy is also good with other dogs and gets along great with Ruby, we unfortunately just do not have the space inside the house with 2 dogs, 3 adults and most importantly a TODDLER. As we stress endlessly we do not want your pet to feel as if they are in a high stress situation when you are on vacation. Being away from your people is already high stress enough let alone having 2 other dogs and a toddler chasing you and not giving you space, we want your dog to feel relaxed in our environment and although we have the love to provide we just don’t have the space to offer a stress free zone which is incredibly unfair to your pet.
Even though we have had to stop our boarding we still offer drop in visits, as well as dog walking so send us a message to chat about the services you & your pet will need 😉

It’s taken a bit for me to post this but we had to say a hard goodbye to our favourite boarder, & even though we are a little biased as Lexi girl was part of our family. Man oh man will she be missed.

She made such a great guest in our home, getting along so well with her “grand dog” (Ruby our golden), so gentle and calm with our baby girl from birth-14 months of age even when sav bugged her for kisses.
She was the biggest mooch for any food you were eating but also loved cuddles and being the Center of attention.

She had 13 beautiful years of life and we are very sad to see her go. As with any of the pets we have in our care, we love them as if they were our own and even though Lexi (kind of) was doesn’t make it hurt any more or less.

We hope your snarfling in all the snow Lexi girl ❤️

The start of summer vacation is nearing for these pet parents which means we won’t see them for a little bit, but we sure will miss these three !

Today we had an impromptu visit with Miss Cordelia .
We haven’t seen her in a little while (since November). It was so nice to see her again, here’s a couple photos of when we first started with Cordie vs todays visit!

Rescues all over ontario are extremely over capacity right now. There are too many animals being dumped every single day by monstrous people.
Every day I see 5+ posts from all local rescues asking,pleading for help. It breaks my heart, if I could take on more animals I would. They need help, they need applications for adoptions, they need donations of funds, donations of food, blankets toys treats and everything that keeps these animals cared for.
If you or someone you know is looking for a pet PLEASE encourage them to look at all of the local rescues first.
Every week the Salty crew takes a trip to Animal services and tries sooo hard to get them all out, but they run out of space, they can’t take anymore without current ones being adopted.
It breaks our hearts to see all of these animals going without homes.

So fitting that on Lexi-bears last full day here is a snow day! One of her favourite things aside from being a walking vacuum in the kitchen cleaning up crumbs.
Lexi has been here for 14 days and has had 2 snow falls in that time and she LOVES it !

We never take on 2 dogs at a time seeing as we also have one of our own and a busy baby BUT we could not say no when it comes to these two. Agnes & Teasie are a drop in client for us and we just love their energy so much. These two girls are two peas in a pod.
We have had the best time hanging out with these two the past 10 days. They did not hesitate to make our home theirs and instantly tried to cuddle with Ruby within minutes of arriving.
Although there is two of them they still take up less space in the house then Ruby.
& come on let’s face it. Who could say no to those little tiny faces 🥰

Whew ! What a crazy couple of months it’s been. We’ve had back to back Boardings since November for Holiday season! We have two more boards to finish off the Holiday season and then we are available January 27th and on.

So many animals in these shelters, & so many of them UNDER a year old. There is not enough room in shelters and they are being forced to euthanize them.

If you wanting to add a pet to your home I urge you to please look into a rescue. These animals (pups,dogs,cats,kittens,bunnies, birds etc) all deserve so much more love than what they have been handed.
I wish I could give all of these lovely babies & more a warm & loving home to give them a better life.
