Hi, I’m Romeo, yes, the name fits. I’m a young male with a soft coat, a calm spirit, and a habit of winning people over without even trying. I’m the kind of cat who likes to observe first and cuddle second, but once I decide you’re safe, I lean in with my whole heart.

I’m looking for a home that appreciates a gentle companion—someone who enjoys quiet company, slow blinks, and the occasional burst of play. I don’t need constant attention, but I do enjoy being near my people. A relaxed environment would suit me best, whether that’s a cozy apartment or a peaceful home with a good window view.

Hi, I’m Cowboy, your future sidekick!

I’m a Bully mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys. If it squeaks, bounces, or can be proudly carried around the house, it’s basically my best friend. I’m happiest when I’m right next to my people, and if I think I’m missing out on something fun… well, I’ll let you know. Politely. Loudly. With feeling.

I’ve got plenty of energy for playtime, but I’m just as committed to handing out affection. I’m the type who wants to be part of whatever you’re doing, errands, movie nights, backyard hangs, all of it.

My ideal home? Someone who appreciates a goofy, expressive dog who thrives on attention and consistency. A family that enjoys play, doesn’t mind my commentary when I feel left out, and wants a loyal buddy who’ll make them laugh daily.

🐾Adoption Update 🐾

Katelyn and her family adopted Lydia from the shelter this past March, and they wanted to share an update with all the wonderful staff who cared for her before she found her forever home.

Lydia has taken some time to learn when and where playtime is appropriate, but she’s making steady progress. She’s still the same smart, energetic girl everyone remembers, but she has settled beautifully into family life. One of her favorite things is leaning her whole body against someone while getting pets—she loves being close and never misses a chance to be around her people.

Recently, Lydia discovered shadows on the walls, and she is absolutely fascinated by them. She spends plenty of time trying to figure out where they come from and attempting to “play” with them. She also adores the snow, so her family is expecting an entertaining winter ahead.

Over the summer, Lydia enjoyed trips to the family cottage. She wasn’t a fan of swimming (at least not yet) but was perfectly content supervising from the dock.

We love hearing how our animals are thriving in their forever homes, and stories like yours help remind our community just how life-changing adoption can be. If you’ve welcomed a shelter pet into your family, we’d be thrilled to hear how they’re doing. Send us a direct message!

We are incredibly honoured to receive $4,500 raised at the Ryan Young Memorial Softball tournament! ❤🐾

These amazing people pictured here with our teammate Nik, have come together to create something extremely meaningful to our animals and staff. We stopped by City Hall to meet Mayor Kevin Davis , Tina Binder and Michael Bradley on Wednesday! Tina collected over $1,000 through Pawliday baskets this past week and we are so thankful for her incredible efforts!

Hi there! My name’s Rocky, and I’m a 1.5-year-old Labrador Retriever mix with a heart as big as my paws. 🐾💛

I’m still young, which means I’ve got plenty of playful energy and curiosity about the world. I love going for walks, sniffing every interesting scent, and soaking up the sunshine. And once I’ve had my exercise? I’m all about the couch cuddles.

When I meet new people, I get very excited, I can’t help but bounce up to say hello, even to smaller humans. I’m still learning about my size and manners, so I’d do best in a home with older kids or adults who can handle my enthusiastic greetings and help me keep working on polite hellos.

I try so hard to be the goodest boy, and I’m learning more every day. With a little patience, a lot of love, and maybe a treat or two (okay, or three), I’ll keep growing into the best version of myself.

My dream home? Probably with a family or couple who wants to bring me to be a part of daily adventures! I could do well with another friendly dog or respectful older kiddos, I just want to be included and loved. That’s really all I’ve ever wanted.
