A Special Search: Franklin is seeking a Fospice Home
Meet Franklin, a soft, shy 5-year-old grey cat with the heart of a quiet companion. Franklin came to the Brant County SPCA with some health concerns. She has been diagnosed with mammary cancer, but she is currently comfortable and enjoying the little things: a cozy blanket, a warm sunbeam, and the soothing sound of a calm voice nearby.
Because of her diagnosis, Franklin is looking for a fospice home—a loving foster family where she can continue to live comfortably and peacefully. Fospice (a combination of foster and hospice) is one of the most compassionate gifts a person can give. The Brant County SPCA will provide all medications and veterinary care deemed necessary and the fospice provides love, patience, and a quiet space—everything Franklin needs most.
What does Franklin’s ideal home look like?
Franklin needs is someone who will sit with her, speak gently, and understand that trust takes time. She isn’t the type to ask for the spotlight, but for those who take the time to truly see her, she offers something incredibly special—gentle trust, peaceful presence, and a love that’s calm and steady.
She prefers to takes her time, especially at mealtimes, and prefers to eat when the room is quiet. She once lived in a home with many other cats and may do well with a gentle feline friend, but she’d prefer a home without dogs or small children.
Franklin reminds us how powerful quiet companionship can be. Her soft purrs, slow blinks, and quiet presence are a kind of love that speaks volumes.
If you’re someone who believes in comfort, compassion, and giving a cat like Franklin the safety and peace she deserves, we would love to hear from you.
