Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation

Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation Sato Saved aims to change the world, one dog at a time. 🐾 Thank you,
Cassia Bryden- Founder

Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation is a privately run home and foster-based not for profit rescue located in the Brantford area, but extending all over Ontario and beyond. We take in dogs that are at the "end of the line" or extreme risk/medical cases and some behavioural cases if we have space and foster ability. Here at Sato Saved End of the line dog rescue, We specialize i

n raising litters with mamas with behavioural issues, ensuring post whelp spays, hand raising orphans and neonatals with health issues. We also give priority to fearful and timid dogs who are declining in shelters or puppies in need of proper starts. We strongly believe in creating a proper foundation at an early age to avoid adolescent dogs being surrendered with a lack of training. Breaking the shelter/surrender cycle is very important to us and training, socializing, and raising your dog right from the start avoids so many issues/risks in the future. We provide lifetime support to all our adoptive families and have a wonderful community support system that helps us fund our missions.

Adoptable

Rocket / Tundra
5 months
Malamute x husky
35ish lbs

This adorable boy joined us at the end of August from our friends over at snowflake meadows.

He was quite shy upon arrival but has had another well mannered dog to learn from in both his foster homes since joining us so he has really blossomed in the last 3 months.

I had originally hoped that a specific family would adopt this pup but unfortunately it just didn't work out and the stars were not aligning.

So he's officially available for adoption to the right home! He is settling in TOO well with his foster family so it's time to find that forever spot before the holidays 🩷

Rocket/ originally Tundra, has been learning the ropes in his foster family. Leash walking down pat, crate trained no issue. House broken about 95%

Hes great with children

Hes not had any cat exposure since leaving my place 2 months ago. (But was fine then) will need ongoing training to co exist with a cat.

Great with other dogs.

Needs a secure back yard or rural home with underground fence.

Husky or Mal experience would be prefered

Willingness to complete puppy class is a must

This pup has displayed such a remarkably calm demeanor for his breed. He is an old soul and a truly smart and patient boy who is willing to work for treats and needs to keep his brain stimulated so that he doesn't look for things to do and get into trouble.

Hes got the cutest woo woos and the softest fur, making him an expert cuddler. His markings are absolutely stunning too.

His best suited home has another dog to keep him company and to learn from

Kids 5 and up would be preference, simply due to his size.

Adoption fee is $850 with a post adoption training agreement.

All puppies come fully vaccinated, microchipped, well dewormed and on parasite prevention as well as spayed/neutered.

If you're interested in adopting Rocket please send an email including an application to [email protected]

Don't miss your chance at a one in a million pup! 💙

It's Friday again everyone.

Weve got Sooooo Many things to raise money for that today i can't even begin to decide for a proper post

So today for 5$ Friday im waving the help flag because we desperately need funds to help with vet bills. We've had many dogs spayed and neutered, Apollo was back in for his cytopoint shot and 2 bags of food ($480) and we've had a lot of loss this week. I had another unexpected vet bill yesterday and it ended in tragedy.... we are drowning a little and definitely need any amount of spare change that may be laying around under that couch cushion!!!

Please help us help them!

Emt to [email protected]

Happy weekend everyone 💚 and Jaxon says thanks he wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for your support

A while ago we agreed to take in another stray who was needing placement through Animal Control where Flesherton Farmhouse: Foster Home & Farm Sanctuary is located.

Welcome, Casper is a strikingly handsome, gentle giant who was a stray found in Grand Valley just a couple of months ago.

He was found alongside another dog, Sadie, who was lucky enough to find a spot with Dog Tales in King City after her stray hold ended with Municipal Support Services Inc.. But Casper still needed a place to go, and after a bit of waiting, we were able to transfer him to Katie & Kyle's farm.

When they were told he was a “big dog,” they weren’t entirely prepared for just how BIG he is! Casper is truly majestic with a huge head and a fluffy coat, but his body is still catching up and he’s got some weight to gain. At 80 lbs, he’s a large boy with lots of love to give.

Here’s what we know about him so far:
Age: 3-5 years
Breed: Caucasian Shepherd x
Size: Large / Extra Large
Weight: 80 lbs (with more to come as he gains weight)

Though Casper isn’t adoptable just yet, he’s settling in and decompressing; this will give us a better understanding of his personality and needs, but so far, he’s been a classic “velcro dog”—very attached to his people and always up for snuggles.

He’s quiet, calm, and just wants to be close to his humans.
Casper may be a big guy, but his heart is even bigger! Stay tuned as we learn more about him, and please join us in welcoming this sweet boy to the Sato Saved family.

Today we said "f**k it" and welcomed another sweet boy to Sato Saved, whose fate determined due to the harsh reality of Ontario shelters right now.

Have you ever really thought about how dog shelters, SPCAs, and humane societies work?

Have you ever paused to consider the countless situations an Ontario shelter faces every single day, and how they handle each one with limited resources, no authority to lay animal-related charges, financial struggles, and laws like BSL (Breed Specific Legislation, the ban on breeds like “pit bulls”)?

- Most dogs arrive as strays.
- Some are surrenders.
- Some after owners pass away, fall ill/no longer care for them

Others arrive due to bite quarantines, and heartbreakingly, many of those dogs never leave the shelter alive. Not all deserve that outcome, but often there’s simply nowhere for them to go once they’ve “messed up.” Some dogs are truly dangerous and must be euthanized, but others… they’re just victims of circumstance.

Sometimes shelters are at full capacity, and after only four days, if a dog isn’t considered adoptable, they face euthanasia. Think long and hard about what "not adoptable” really means. Shelters do their best, but too many dogs are broken by people, by neglect, ignorance, or abuse.

For many years, I’ve worked in a high-volume shelter. Weekends are my shift, and that’s often when the hardest calls come in. I’ve seen things I’ll never unsee. Some days, this job feels like a curse; other days, I’m grateful I can help where many can’t. I can set my emotions aside for an animal far easier than I can for a human, and so I keep going.

After more than a decade in rescue and rehabilitation, I’ve met thousands of dogs and given so many second chances. I’ve also held countless others in their final moments, dogs who were sick, injured, or so deeply damaged by humans that letting them go was the kindest thing we could do.

And sometimes, I’m sitting on a blanket, looking into a dog’s trusting eyes, knowing they don’t deserve this. They wag their tails, believing I’m good, and I can barely breathe because I know I’m about to end their life.

Today could have been one of those days.

With bite-quarantine dogs whose owners don’t want them back, there’s often no way out, no answers, no options, no money, no support. And as much as I wish it weren’t true; Cassia can't save them all.

But today, I knew a special dog was scheduled to meet his fate, and I haven’t slept all weekend thinking about him.
He made a mistake, but he isn’t a bad dog. After all these years, I can just tell, he’s a good boy who needs the right chance, the right person.

So today, I’m taking a big risk both financially and emotionally, because I need a win. I need something good. And I know you all do too.

Meet Jaxon 💙
Our newest “yes”

Age: 1-Year
Breed: Pocket Bully x Mini Bulldog x
Weight: 50lbs

Our little house hippo, a snuggle-face, loyal companion, and professional couch buddy. He promises to snore beside you every night.

What we need:
✔️ Pet-Free Foster Home (or Foster-to-Adopt)
✔️ Good with kids (10+)
✔️ Loves all people
✔️ Rural or fenced yard

We also desperately need funds to keep saying “yes” to dogs like Jaxon. If I don’t have the funds, I can’t keep helping, that’s the harsh reality!

If you can help financially or are interested in fostering/adopting, please send an e-transfer/email to:
📧 [email protected]

For transparency: Jaxon’s bite incident happened during a dog fight that was broken up incorrectly. It wasn’t intentional. Training will begin immediately, and this morning, we’ve already arranged for his neuter, a true fresh start.

Honouring Our Animal Heroes on Remembrance Day

By: Canadian Animal Health Institute

On Remembrance Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended Canada in times of war. But alongside the brave men and women who served, there were countless other soldiers who walked, flew, and swam alongside them: animals whose loyalty and strength proved invaluable to our forces. Today, we remember these often unsung heroes who played a pivotal role in our history and helped to shape our nation’s defense.

Animals have long served on the front lines, performing acts of courage that saved lives. Horses, mules, dogs, pigeons, and even cats were enlisted to support Canadian soldiers in various ways. Horses and mules carried soldiers, supplies, and artillery over harsh terrains and through unforgiving climates. Dogs delivered messages, sniffed out explosives, and provided companionship that helped soldiers endure unimaginable hardships. Homing pigeons carried vital communications, flying over enemy lines to deliver information that could mean the difference between life and death. Cats aboard ships helped protect supplies by keeping rodent populations under control, playing a small yet significant role in the safety and wellbeing of those at sea.

The Animals in War Dedication in Ottawa serves as a powerful tribute to these courageous creatures. Situated within Confederation Park, it commemorates the devotion of these animals with a bronze statue of a dog in uniformed regalia, symbolizing the bond between soldiers and their animal allies. Each year, it reminds us of the animals who gave their lives, willingly or instinctively, for their human companions.

Sato Saved Rescue is proud to support initiatives that honor the important role of animals in all aspects of Canadian life, including those whose loyalty has supported our country in times of need. On this day of remembrance, we recognize that animals have always been a vital part of our lives – not just in our homes, but in our history.

Let us take a moment today to remember the sacrifices of all who served, including our animal heroes, and to acknowledge their enduring legacy in Canada’s story.

This handsome lad, is the brother to our sweet bottle baby Butterscotch (who we have shared a couple times). We fixed their mom, and are trying to get her into the rescue as well.

Toffee joined us a little later around 9-10 weeks old after being rehomed thee (3) times in three (3) weeks... We know!

Our main priority was providing a stable and safe home for him to decompress and learn how to be a puppy! Thankfully, he has done just that!

Toffee is a laid back boy when he wants to be but gets his fair share of zoomies too. His favorite thing to do is pester his foster sister and he absolutely enjoys the company of other dogs.

Here is what we know;

We welcomed Lilah and her sister (Skylar) back in August. They've successfully settled into foster homes and is proving to be an incredibly sweet little girl.

Unlike her sister, she can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but with some confidence building we feel as though she will grow out of this insecurity.

Here is what we know so far;

✔️ Good with dogs

Before finalizing their adoptions, they will be UTD on their vaccines, and spayed/neutered and on all age appropriate preventions. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to us via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

Our story

Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation was founded out of passion and love for dogs of all kinds. We are located in Brantford Ontario, but our rescue reach only starts in our own community and branches out to Norfolk County, Six Nations and goes all the way to the US, Puerto Rico and everywhere in between.

I, Cassia, the owner and founder, am a former veterinary technician/assistant and have been in the trenches of rescue for 20 years, starting with the first love of my life, Rosey. I have years of experience, strength and dedication that has resulted in thousands of dogs being rescued, rehabilitated and saved from likely death. Previously running a smaller foster based end of the line rescue since 2009, Working with a dedicated team of fosters and transporters as well as the community to accomplish as much as possible with as little as possible. Since expanding when a career change found me working for animal control. There are so many dogs in need that this ever growing hobby was the best way to help educate and advocate for the dogs.

Former partner Deandra rescued her first dog “Sato” from PR, inspiring her to start her rescue when she moved to Waterford in 2017. She named him after a slang term for street dog and this is where the name Sato Saved originated. We work to save any dog on the streets or abandoned. Any “Sato” that needs help. The term suits the rescue beautifully.

In 2018 two smaller rescues and two people with big dreams partnered up with similar goals and thus began Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehab.
