"It takes a special "breed" of staff to work in the non-profit charitable sector and I am so proud and thankful for the team at ADS. Many if not all wear multiple hats overseeing multiple tasks and projects at the same time. There are busy days and busier days and in our case dealing with live animals means a 365, 24/7 commitment to the cause. Non-profit work is unknown in regards to our sustainability as we are 100% relying on the generousity of others: the donors, the volunteers and supportive partners. ADS operates with no government funding. So, committing to a charitable organization comes with a lot of unknowns but this team is thanked for their passion, drive, advocacy, dedication and commitment to Autism Dog Services Inc."

It was created with all-party support by the Government of Ontario to recognize the heroic work of a sector that often goes unnoticed. Nonprofit Appreciation Week recognizes the dedication, passion, and ingenuity of nonprofit professionals and their life-changing impact on individuals, families, and communities". Non Profit Network

Thank you to BScene for posting our latest press release!

Autism Dog Services Tails are Wagging on their 18th Business Birthday!

Submitted Media Release

Autism Dog Services Inc., situated in Brantford, are proudly wagging our tails in celebration of our 18th business birthday in 2025”, says ADS Fund Development Manager Adele Alfano.

Executive Director Vicky Spadoni said, “I can only speak for the past nine years since becoming involved with ADS. The organization has captured my heart, my passion and my respect.” Bravo and thanks to the long term staff and volunteers who share in the passion for ADS. Thank you to staff that all wear multiple hats in their positions and go the extra mile for the charity. The committed volunteers who are an integral part of this organization. Our thanks can’t be shared enough. The phenomenal donors/funders that keep our service dog program sustainable and help us, help individuals with autism! ADS is very grateful and it is now time for a “pupcake” to mark the birthday celebration!”

As with any birthday, we have reflected on our past 18 years and proudly embrace our “small but mighty” motto. This past year, we have celebrated milestones such as our in-house breeding program, grant support from the Brantford Community Foundation, partnerships with corporations, Bay St. Barks initiative, retail paw print campaigns, a successful 2nd Annual Howl-o-Ween Pawty, our 9th annual online charity auction and the launch of our inaugural first Easter Eggs-travaganza. All this would not be possible without the robust and active dedicated fundraising committee, graduate families, waitlist families, Board of Directors and all volunteers.

In the spirit of celebration, ADS is encouraging everyone to donate and help us celebrate more milestones in our organization in 2025. Contributions will help us to continue to place service dogs to individuals with autism and other related developmental disorders. Help us commemorate this milestone year and reach out to us with your own fundraising initiatives.

Online donations can be made through the website (www.autismdogservices.ca) For more information on Autism Dog Services in general please visit the website or call 519-722-2685.
