We are happy to announce that ADS Noble found his calling!

He is the latest skilled Companion Plus Dog to be placed with Autism Dog Services. Noble has been placed to help support Bowen.

Bowen was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when he was nine years old and struggled significantly in school and in social settings. He was often misunderstood with having bad behaviour and had very few friends.
In 2015, Bowen was matched up with Jake, a two year old service dog. Bowen and Jake became a team as he started grade nine and they went everywhere together. Unfortunately, this summer Bowen lost Jake suddenly and unexpectedly.Jake was everything to Bowen and the entire family was devestated by his loss - Jake changed Bowen's life.

When the family first inquired about getting a new dog to help support Bowen through Autism Dog Services, another service dog wasn't needed. Bowen needed a companion with some skills to be a friend for him when he needed support. After applying and being approved for a Skilled Companion Plus Dog, Bowen was matched up with Noble, a very tall, gentle Labrador Retriever.
Noble has been living with Bowen and his family for about a month and they couldn't be happier. He has adjusted wonderfully to their country life and has fit into their household seamlessly. Noble and Bowen sleep together every night in bed (a big ask for a double bed and two big guys) and they are becoming more and more connected. Noble uses his training to help Bowen feel at ease if he's unsure or struggling with something and Bowen is gaining independence by having a dog to count on him for everyday routines.

Congratulations to ADS Noble, and THANK YOU to Noble's village who helped to raise, train and guide him to this amazing career path!

ADS Fundraising Committee member Alexis Oliveira grew up in Brampton, ON. She is currently in a Bachelor of Science Undergraduate Degree studying Animal Biology with intention to become a veterinarian at OVC. Her love for animals lead her to research organizations that incorporated her love for animals. Part of the reason ADS sparked her interest was due to its non-profit aspect which made her realize how much the volunteers cared to change lives. Alexis has conducted a Paw Print Campaign at a Pet Value store in Guelph, ON where she raised over $200 in only a month. Not only did she raise funds to support the ADS organization but, she was also fulfilled watching the paw print signs increase each week, spreading the awareness of what ADS stands for. Other than running this exciting campaign, Alexis also helps out researching contact information for stores that we wish to connect with. Alexis loves being a part of the ADS team and seeing real examples of how it can change the lives of children with autism.

ADS appreciates all that you do for us!!
