💕The staff at BNVC wanted to give a shout out to all the pet parents and clients who have shown so much patience and kindness for some very busy nights full of emergencies💕
We know it’s not easy to be waiting to be seen when you’re tired, hungry, or anxious to know what’s wrong with your pet during these times 🥱🫩😬
So to those who have been generous and gracious to those pets with more serious emergencies that warrant more immediate attention while you’ve already been waiting, we wanted to send a heartfelt, THANK YOU 🙏😻🤗
We don’t always have nights like those, and sometimes we don’t always get so lucky with such kind clients during those times… you know who you are ❤️
Kindness… pass it on 🐾

✨ DVM Spotlight ✨
For our final spotlight… we wanted to thank ALL of our veterinarians as we close out for Veterinary Appreciation Day (it really should be an entire week 😘).
We couldn’t do what we do without ALL of you!

See a veterinarian today? THANK them!
•Thank them for the late nights, the busy shifts, the tireless effort to making sure your pet gets the best care, the skipped lunches, the (sometimes long,) problem solving process and above all compassion for our pets! 🥰
•We are so lucky to have the veterinary team that we have and can’t imagine our team without them! Do you have a veterinarian who went above any beyond? Thank them today! ❤️

A great reminder from The Merck Veterinary Manual on the dangers of these hotter days ahead for our pets… 🥵 🚘 ☀️ 🐕 🐈 🚫
•”On an 85-degree (29*C) day, the temperature inside a car can reach more than 100 degrees (38*C) in just 10 minutes and over 120 degrees (49*C) in just 35 minutes.”

⚠️ REDUCED AIR QUALITY ALERT 🔥💨

~Low-level smoke will reduce air quality through
Friday
~expecting worst air quality overnight Thursday and Friday morning

As per American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) , see below for a list of tips for both our indoor pets and livestock/large animals to keep them safe with the recent alert from The Weather Network

•••PETS
•Keep pets indoors as much as possible, and keep your windows shut.
• Birds are particularly susceptible and should not be allowed outside when smoke or
particulate matter are present.
• Let dogs and cats outside only for brief bathroom breaks if air quality alerts are in effect.
• Avoid intense outdoor exercise during periods of poor air quality. Exercise pets when dust and smoke has settled.

•••LIVESTOCK/LARGE ANIMAL

• Limit exercise when smoke is visible. Especially don't require animals to perform activities that substantively increase airflow into and out of the lungs.
• Provide plenty of fresh water near feeding areas.
• Limit dust exposure by feeding low-dust or dust-free feeds and sprinkling or misting the livestock holding area.
• Plan to give livestock 4 to 6 weeks to recuperate after the air quality returns to normal.
Attempting to handle, move, or transport livestock may delay healing and compromise your animals' performance.
• Good barn and field maintenance can reduce fire danger for horses and other livestock. Make sure barns and other structures are stable, promptly remove dead trees, clear away brush, and maintain a defensible space around
structures.
