The supply for dog blood is running low after a busy summer. Please consider donation!
You stay with your pet for the entire process.

Donation dates at Brant Norfolk are September 25th and December 18th.

🔔 Shellard Lane Animal Hospital Clients!

A notice to our valued clients: The clinic will be closed this Saturday September 6th for a staff event. Please plan accordingly if your pet requires food or medications to be picked up. We will resume our normal hours as of Monday September 8th. If your pet requires emergent medical attention, please contact the after hours clinic Brant Borfolk Ceterinary Clinic at (519) 720 0753. Well that could have been a problem… 😬 🧦
Luckily, “Beaver’s” owners caught him in the act and called the clinic to have us induce vomiting 🦫

•Thought it’s been known for some dogs to pass foreign objects, such as socks, it’s better to not risk the chance at having an exploratory surgery to remove them… 🤕

Next canine donor clinic: Thursday September 25th between 10am-5pm

Did you know that Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic partners with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank to host canine blood donor clinics? BNVC currently holds the record for the largest host clinic in Ontario, and we are aiming for the Canadian record!

If you have a happy and healthy dog over 55lbs, between the ages of 1 and 8 years of age, and up to date on vaccines or titers, they could be a hero!
CABB is a non-profit organization with a mission to supply quality, life-saving canine blood products to veterinary hospitals across Canada. Dogs that fit the criteria can save three lives with just one donation (just a 30 minute appointment). Owners are encouraged to stay with their dogs during the donation, and dogs that are not agreeable to the process are not forced to donate; the goal is a positive experience for all!

Perks for donors:
- annual complimentary 4DX testing, blood typing, blood-borne disease screening, free microchip with second donation
- "welcome to the pack" dog tag and bandana, milestone dog tags
- one complimentary blood product per donation should the need ever arise
- treats and attention!

To register:
- Find the registration form on the CABB website: https://canadiananimalbloodbank.ca/register-your-dog/
- Ask your vet to complete the health assessment portion to confirm eligibility.

- One of the CABB team members will reach out to schedule an appointment!
