VIK9 (and now VIK9 AHSS) was trained and Certified by MSAR. We use his protocols in training specific service dogs for specific people’s needs. For many disabilities, you cannot have a carbon copy training program as every person’s needs and reaponses are unique. We have been and currently are involved with MSAR (and others across Canada) in establishing Industry Standards (the first one finally came i to existance in 2022). I am personally living proof of the benifits of a specifically trained service dog and how they can compliment the other supports in one’s life to become empowered over their conditions. Thank-you George.

In this episode of Our Community, we follow the emotional journeys of individuals and their life-changing relationships with service dogs from MSAR.Our Commu...

Have a great Friday and weekend. Lets all dedicate ourselves to remember, acknowledge the our true past as a Country, mourn those that were harmed and passed away as a result of how Canada came to be and prospered at the expense of our own people. I pray we all will continue to rejuvenate our individual and collective efforts to heal from our past and become the dream of what Canada can be…a truly amaxing country where all are valued, respected and have equal opportunities.

Had a Timmies coffee the other day. I was in a good mood and I brought a smile to others face (and snickers) from the coffee. (You may need to zoom in on the pic.). I was bot aware of it until someone said I had a unique smile, I was not sure what they meant until I looked at myself.

VI K9 - Taking control of your disability through the use and skills of your K9

I know the significance of PTSD and the issues around being a part of a Service Dog Team. I was diagnosed with PTSD early in 2014, almost 21 years after my experiences as a Canadian Peacekeeper in the Former Yugoslavia during Medak Pocket. I was very lucky enough to be provided my Service Dog “Cully” from Courageous Companions Canada that summer and through his direct assistance and interventions, my recovery and my reintegration into my family and society as a whole has been greatly improved. It is my passion and calling to use these experiences in assisting others who are in need of Service Dogs, helping to improve their quality of life and taking control of their disability through the use of their Service Dog.

VI K9 is proud to be a Service Dog Trainer contracted with Courageous Companions Canada in the Greater Victoria Area.

Additional Services: Behavioural Reconditioning; Obedience Training; U-Bath and Pet Care (when space is available|).
