UPDATE SEPT 12/24 She has not been seen on cameras or reported sightings for several days. Dog Lovers Search and Rescue put up posters and distributed flyers. Hopeful for sightings.
Please please keep your eyes open for this beautiful girl.

UPDATE SEPT 8/24 She did not make an appearance last night. Trap watches are ongoing today into tonight and over night if required.

UPDATE SEPT 7/24 She was seen on camera eating in the wee hours of the morning. The food has been restocked. Dog Lovers Search and Rescue is bringing in one of their traps and setting watches. Send positive vibes for a quick secure !! This precious girl needs to be with her family.

UPDATE SEPT 6/24. She has been spotted on a trail cam. Another camera and a feeding station has been put out.
Please do not search anywhere there has been a posted sighting. We want her to stay in the area and anyone going theiugh there ciuld scare her away.

OUR FUREVER FRIDAY SPOTLIGHT: FRANK

Hi! My name is Frank! My foster family calls me the MIRACLE KITTY! 🐾 🥰 🐾

I am a sweet boy who is looking for a special family to love. When I was first rescued, I was having some issues with my heart, and I was only given 2-3 months to live, but guess what?! I’ve been thriving in my foster home for 9 months with no medical hiccups at all, and at my most recent vet appointment, they said my heart murmur was all gone!😍🙌🏼 This means I can find a forever family and live many happy and healthy years like a normal kitty now! Woohoo! 🥳

I am an affectionate boy who just wants to be around my favorite people. I love playing with my toys, but my favorite thing is just being around my family, snuggling, chatting, and making biscuits!

I would prefer to be the only kitty in the household as I am not a fan of sharing my people and space with other cats. I am good with respectful dogs like the ones in my foster home, so living with a doggo would be fine but I’d really like to be your one and only furry child if I had it my way!

Even though I have a lot of love to give and love humans, I am not a fan of young kids because I have been known to love bite when I get too excited. I am working on it with my foster parents, but I am still learning🥰.

🐘🩶 My birthday fundraiser for the elephants! 🩶🐘

Every year I try to host a little fundraiser for a rescue organization that means a lot to me🥰. For me my birthday is just another day, but many people ask me what I want, and I think everyone knows by now that all I really want is to help give animals in need a voice and support them in any way I can.

My birthday happens to land on World Elephant Day🩶. I feel like this is perfect because I’m obsessed with them lol, just recently got my elephant tattoo I’ve wanted for so long, and Global Conservation Force is one of my favourite wildlife conservation organizations that fights every single day with boots on the ground risking their own lives to fiercely protect them (as well as many other endangered species) from poachers. Even though elephants aren’t in our own backyard, they desperately need help and are a crucial part of our ecosystem. I was lucky enough to meet the founder of GCF, Mike Veale in person, and I know that this organization is 100% legitimate and does amazing work.

For my birthday this year, I would really love if anyone who is able to donate even a couple of dollars, would donate to Global Conservation Force to help save and protect the elephants so they can continue to do the hard work that they do every day. Every dollar adds up and makes a huge difference 🥰🐘🩶.

KITTENS & FLOWERS FUNDRAISER: THIS SATURDAY!

Helping out the lovely folks at Little Farm That Could has been our latest project. We are seeing the impact of our work spread, reaching more community members looking for resources and solutions with the ever growing stray cat crisis in our community.

Once approached by the farm owners and decided we could try to help, we came up with a plan (you should always have one first before taking this on). Spicy Kitten Rescue and Foster Farm Animal Sanctuary once again stepped up to assist. We have been able to trap on the property for multiple days and are almost at the finish line with only 2 more adults and 2-3 kittens still to go.

During our initial discussions, we explained that trapping a colony of this size would take considerable resources. We could find the manpower, the traps and coordinate the vetting, placements and such but fundraising is essential. Here’s where the lovely owners came up with this fabulous idea!

Partnering is where the magic happens and this is a wonderful example! So please if you can, show your support! This Saturday! 💐

Poodles!💛

A little poodle update! 🐩❤️ Our sweet poodle crew is doing very well! Their stray hold at Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward is officially up as of today, and they are now officially good to go to their foster homes through Marley's Pet Rescue !🙌🏼 Marleys Pet Rescue will be intaking all 5 of them into great foster homes, and once their vetting is fully completed and their fosters have had time to get to know their personalities they will be available for adoption❤️. Please follow and keep an eye on their page if you’re interested in following them or adopting! Doris, the sweet senior girl in the video is the pup who was seemingly hit by a car, and has a fractured pelvis in 4 spots💔. She is currently at the humane society getting amazing care, and I will be picking her and the others up this evening for the weekend until they see Presqu'ile Animal Hospital on Monday for pre op bloodwork to get ready for their dental surgeries, and then they’re off to their foster homes! Even after all that Doris has been through lately, she has shown everyone every day that she wants to fight through this. She is a spunky and happy little girl, and is already starting to stand and go to the bathroom with some assistance from a sling which is great news. Between the humane society and I, we have consulted with a few amazing Veterinarians and surgeons for their opinions on her situation on top of the veterinarians that she has been seen by, and as of right now the consensus is that she should do very well with bed rest for a couple of months and shouldn’t require surgery🙏🏼. This is great news, because Doris also has a stage 3 heart murmur which would make an intense surgery like that very risky for her at her age. Many, many wheels have been turning and it takes many hands on deck to help animals in these situations. We’re so thankful to everyone involved, and our community for stepping up for them. 💚🐢 PSA - Watch for turtles! They’re on the move 🐢💚 Please keep an eye out while you’re driving! This is the second turtle I’ve moved off of the road in the last 2 days. Just within the last two hours I’ve found two, one sadly deceased, and yesterday a snapper was in the middle of highway 2 and needed help, so they can be places you don’t expect! Please don’t drive by and ignore them. They need our help to get across the roads safely 🙏🏼. If you are uncomfortable moving them, please do your best to safely keep them out of harms way while you call for help. Today was the perrrfect day for a road trip adventure! ☀️🐾🌿💦 If it’s possible to have TOO much fun, that’s what we all did! 🤣🙌🏼

It’s perfect lure course weather! 🏃‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️ And the Widdles are here for it!🐶🙌🏼

‼️ Loose dog sighting ‼️ This husky was on our cameras this morning around 6:20am. We’re on highway 2 in between Brighton and Colborne in Salem area. Confirmed with our neighbour that it is not his, but he said he has seen one loose a couple of times lately. If this is your dog please shoot me a message or call at 9059245524 to let me know whether or not he is home safe.

Marvys parents say the night before “Ashley Day” is like Christmas Eve! 🎅🏻🐾🎄 I love how excited the pups get for their gym days 🥰 They’re so smart and totally know when it’s their day to go each week!❤️

Rest in paradise “Frankie” 😭🌈💔 We tried so hard to help you😢. I was made aware of a situation with a very badly injured stray cat in Colborne who needed help. His Finder was doing everything she could to help him but needed help to secure and get him vet care. I was able to secure him, keep him warm and loved and get him to emerg, but unfortunately his injuries were too severe to be saved💔 he started seizing, and we had to end his suffering. “Frankie” was an in tact, senior boy without a microchip. He more than likely didn’t have an owner to love him like he should have been and that breaks my heart. The only silver lining is that he is no longer suffering, and didn’t have to die alone freezing in a snow storm, like so many others do. The cost of Frankie’s euthanasia that I have paid for was $282.50. I requested 2 complimentary clay paw prints from Brighton Cremations, so that Frankie can come “home” to his finder Paula and myself. He deserves to at least have that❤️. If you’re able to contribute in any amount to help with the cost of this bill it would be so, so appreciated. We are trying SO hard right now behind the scenes to help the stray cats in our area and we are literally drowning. Any extra funds sent above this bill will go towards the other 15 (plus) cats that we are currently working on helping, in Frankie’s memory.
