The Animals in War Dedication honours animals that served alongside their human comrades in war.

It is located in Confederation Park and set next to the South African War Memorial, a battle for which Canada supplied 50,000 horses.

The footprints of dogs, horses and mules are stamped into the concrete of the Animals in War Dedication, representing the marks they left on the battlefield.

A bronze, life-sized statue of a medical service dog stands guard over the dedication. It is wearing an authentic replica of a medical backpack that war dogs used during the First World War. Canada’s military still employs dogs to this day.

October is RVT Month!

The Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada observes RVT Month every October to honour the vital role RVT's play in animal healthcare.

RVTs are indispensable to veterinary medicine. The average ratio is two RVT's for every one veterinarian. Basically, a veterinary practice cannot run without their RVT's!

We would like to take this opportunity to send a special thank-you to all of the hard-working, ever-smiling and dedicated RVT's in our clinic!

We would not be here without you and we appreciate you every single day!

Feel Good Friday Story.

Yesterday's last transport of the year was a success. (Thanks Debbie, Margot and Lanark Leeds & Grenville Spay Neuter Clinic)

12 more cats done. (plus 1 more that went on their own to the clinic). A total of $1768.25 was spent to make that happen.

We appreciate all owners that contact and reach out to us for help.

We appreciate all owners who take the time to care for their pet (s) by getting them spayed and neutered.

Some of those owners do it on their own with a little financial help from us. Other owners need a bit more guidance, more financial help and transport.

We do our best to move around the City in pockets of areas to make it easier for those owners to get to us.

We celebrate all owners that make their way to a better life for their pets, however they get there.

But today we also want to highlight one specific owner that really went above and beyond. This specific owner rescued a couple cats a while back, but of course they had kittens before he could find help. This owner ended up with 11 cats. Too many for him to properly care for. He needed to rehome some.

He found wonderful homes for these cats. But first he took the responsibility to make sure they were healthy and ready to go.

Through the help of Community Veterinary Outreach he has gotten care for those kittens and then came to our waitlist for spay and neuter. He has now gotten them spayed and neutered and will prepare them for their new homes.

And how does he do it?? With his bike and tag along.

This owner, uses his bike and tag along to get his cat food and litter because "well it's just too much to carry on the bus".

And he brought his cats to us the same way. They are all in hard shell carriers, which we helped him get. They are thoughtfully placed in the tag along based on their weights. They are tied down, blanketed, secured to get them to us and back home. He is thoughtful with their care after, making sure he has what he needs for them at home.

He got 3 done on our last transport. That one was close to home.

BUT this last transport was NOT close to home and he wanted to finish them all. So this was a big part of his day going back and forth with his precious cargo.

So the last 2 females and 1 stinky male. Done.

We thank him for showing us how anything is possible!

No Judgment. Just spay and neuter. Together we are a TEAM!
(and there is always a way)

Power outage!

To all of our very patient clients out there...thanks for helping us through the intermittent power outages in Brockville on Friday!

Your pets are always our primary concern and when things are out of your control it takes a team effort to make the day run smoothly.

No pet was left in the dark and we appreciate your patience and understanding!

World Rabies Day is celebrated on Sept. 28 to honour the passing of Louis Pasteur, a pioneer in the field of rabies research and vaccination.

Rabies is a fatal but preventable disease that affects almost every country on the planet. Vaccinating your pets against rabies is what you can do to help eliminate this deadly disease.

Warning, graphic material!

Another life saved.

Pyometra is a serious and life-threatening infection in the uterus. The uterus becomes inflamed and distended with pus, and can happen in both dogs and cats.

The recommended treatment for pyometra is a spay surgery. Spaying your female animals early helps to avoid this condition altogether.

A Work In Progress

We are excited to announce that very shortly we will be getting the keys to this building!

Located on County Road 29 just north of Brockville, we will begin construction in the next few weeks and plan to be open by mid January, 2021 (it HAS to be a better year than 2020!).

Lanark Leeds Grenville Spay Neuter Clinic (we know, it’s a ridiculously long name) is now booking appointments for surgery. We offer spay and neuter services to cats, dogs and rabbits (sorry, no husbands).

You can contact us for more information or to book an appointment by visiting our website https://613345spay.ca/
