Grace was in for a urine culture! We performed a urine culture using a cystocentesis procedure to ensure a sterile sample. She was a little rock star!

What is Cystocentesis?

Cystocentesis is a common veterinary procedure used to collect a sterile urine sample directly from your pet’s bladder using a fine needle. This technique helps ensure that the sample isn’t contaminated by bacteria from the lower urinary tract, providing a clear picture of bladder health. Cystocentesis is often performed when testing for urinary infections, crystals, or other bladder-related issues, and it’s typically quick, safe, and well-tolerated by pets.
