Sometimes we get too busy. Partly due to the chaos outside, in the world. And partly due to the chaos inside. When we are too busy, we are unable to rest in the present moment. We are unable to be aware. No one can slow us down except ourself. It is important to pay attention to slowing ourself down, being in the present moment, and being aware. Throughout the day several times take a few deep breaths repeatedly. This can help us return to the present, and be aware. When we return to the present awareness, we feel balanced. We feel centered. There is peace of mind. Peace of mind allows us to communicate well with others. Positive communication fosters mutual respect. Respect fosters trust. Trust allows us to be safe, and open our heart to love. Emaho!

I have learned that if you must leave a place that you have lived in and loved and where all your yesteryears are buried deep, leave it any way except a slow way, leave it the fastest way you can. Never turn back and never believe that an hour you remember is a better hour because it is dead. Passed years seem safe ones, vanquished ones, while the future lives in a cloud, formidable from a distance. The cloud clears as you enter it. I have learned this, but like everyone, I learned it late. ~Beryl Markham

😢In shame there is a deeper story of having done wrong or worse yet – BEEN wrong.
So what does it take? What does it really take to bust out of this mold, release shame and allow the full expression of who we are to shine unabashedly?
🌞🌞🌞

🌲🌲🌲This is a big part of the power of group work and ritual - we get to be witnessed and witness others in their similar (and innately human) experiences and suddenly the shame falls away and we feel free.

🌚As shame begins to dissolve and release, we can start to feel what is underneath it. Sometimes it is anger or great sorrow, but oftentimes it is actually a sense of playfulness, connection and JOY! 🤸‍♀️

🙏🏽When we feel safe, we can be ourselves. Finding others that accept us fully, warts and all, is essential to freeing ourselves from shame.

If while washing dishes, we think only of the cup of tea that awaits us, thus hurrying to get the dishes out of the way as if they were a nuisance, then we are not “washing the dishes to wash the dishes.” What’s more, we are not alive during the time we are washing the dishes. In fact we are completely incapable of realizing the miracle of life while standing at the sink. If we can’t wash the dishes, the chances are we won’t be able to drink our tea either. While drinking the cup of tea, we will only be thinking of other things, barely aware of the cup in our hands. Thus we are sucked away into the future—and we are incapable of actually living one minute of life. ~Thich Nhat Hanh
