We are overly excited to announce our big day! July 6 2025 from 10-2. Please join us here at The Grooming Barn at 322 Ontario st burks falls for our Grand Opening! We will have free hot dogs, hamburgers an bottled water but accepting donations if you wish. We will be donating all funds to All Heart Pet Rescue in Powassan❤️ Please stop by look around ask questions we are here for all! We are over the moon with the people of burks falls a surrounding areas with their feedback and generosity. We will also be raffling a basket worth $100 of all doggy stuff at the grand opening and winner will be announced before we close! 🐕

We also have confirmed that Haley from pure.bliss photography will be doing some photos that day of the shop, can’t wait!

Good morning,

I have some used male dog wraps to donate to an individual or rescue in need. They are washed, velcro is still in very good shape, with some fabrics caught in them from washing. The patterned ones were only used less than a year. I would have to look up or measure the exact dimensions, but they're XL size. They were used on my 75lbs labrador with urinary incontinence who passed away last year. There are also some white liners to sit inside them for extra protection. They could be useful for a dog with an anxious bladder (i.e. on car rides). I will plan a trip to donate them to the OSPCA if no one else can pick them up first. Feel free to send me a message if you can use them!

As temperatures rise across Ontario, the OPP is reminding the public of the life-threatening risks of leaving children or pets unattended in parked vehicles.

Even on a mild day, the temperature inside a vehicle can rise rapidly posing a serious risk of heatstroke, brain damage, or death. Within 10 minutes, the interior of a car can become 20 degrees hotter than the outside temperature, even with windows slightly open. Children and pets are especially vulnerable as they cannot regulate their body temperature effectively.

Prevention is simple:

• Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a short time.
• Always check the back seat before locking your car.
• Use reminders like placing a personal item in the back seat to avoid forgetting.
• If you can’t bring your pet with you, leave them at home in a cool, safe environment.
• Consider dog-friendly destinations or pet-sitting services when running errands.
