Max is a beautiful, two year old husky. He is as majestic and noble as his cousin, the direwolf!
He loves the outdoors, is very clever and learns quickly. Come on in to Burlington Humane to meet Max and what may be your destiny!!
Max Needs a Foster or Forever Home!
Our handsome husky, Max, is struggling in the shelter, and we need your help to find him a foster or adoptive home.
Max can be unsure of new people at first, but with some patience and treats, he warms up quickly. Like a true husky, he loves playing in the snow, running around, and—of course—showing off his signature husky drama! He’s incredibly smart, affectionate in his own way, and will happily sit with you while you hold his paw or stroke his head.
Max has had some positive interactions with calm, confident dogs, but he can be assertive around nervous or tense dogs. He also has a prey drive, so he’s not suitable for a home with cats. Over time, Max has developed some resource-guarding behaviors with his favorite items. Because of this, we feel he would do best as the only pet in a home with adults only to ensure his space is respected. When Max first arrived, this behavior wasn’t present, so it’s unknown if it will improve in a home environment.
We are looking for an experienced foster who is comfortable working with a dog that has resource-guarding tendencies and can provide him with a stable, understanding environment until he finds his forever home.
If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Max, please reach out to us at (905) 637-7325 ext. 234.
Let’s get Max out of the shelter and into a home where he can thrive!
Congratulations Venus and May on your Adoption!! We are so happy for you!!
