(see previous post) .. this September, we got really busy harvesting flowers and making floral arrangements for several festivals at Iskcon Vancouver Hare Krishna Temple - Notably Krishna's Appearance Day, which was on Sept 6; a day full of bliss and celebration with traditional music Kirtan and mantra meditation, vegetarian feast for thousands and lots of flowers everywhere! Here's a glimpse and behind the scene from the farm perspective, where we made flower boxes on site at the farm from fresh Dahlias, Zinnias, Asters and flower green garlands from fresh Asters! 🌸🌸🧑🌾

Last year, we grew 80+ roses from 150+ cuttings in a trial garden, and it was a small success. 😍
We soak them in water for a few days, and transplant them in March, 6-8 stems per pot.
... 4-5 months later, you can witness the first blooms 🌸
Start a rose garden this March, it’s that easy!

In summary:

Step 1: remove foliage on stems, cut in diagonal a few inches from the top cutting and soak the base in water for multiple days.

Step 2: fill containers with compost and top soil and replant stems many inches deep in March-April.

Step 3: wait and chant Hare Krishna (optional, but recommended =).

Step 4: harvest roses 4-5 months later 🌸🙏.
