Happy #FreedomFriday, enjoy your wild life! ✨️
🐣 This hummingbird nestling fell out of their mom's nest. The tiny bird is currently receiving the best care they can get, so they can return to the wild once they grow up strong enough.
In care, hummingbird nestlings are fed every 30 minutes from sun up to sun down. Their food consists of a mixture of insect slurry and nectar. On top of that, the little babies receive supplemental warmth in an incubator until they reach the fledgling stage.
Happy #FreedomFriday to this little Varied Thrush! After 20 days in care, she recovered successfully from a car collision. Wish her luck!

Bats in care are usually hand-fed by hospital staff, but this Yuma Myotis in care decided to self-feed over the weekend!
Since most species of bats feed while in flight, most bats don't self-feed while in care as it's not natural foraging behaviour for them to eat from a dish. Because Yuma Myotis are tree bats, it tends to be a little easier for them to self-feed from a dish compared to some other species.
