Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program

Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program Trap, Neuter, Return, Maintain of Community Cats in Cote Saint Luc. The overpopulation of feral, homeless cats in our city is a huge cause for concern.

Cote Saint Luc officially launched a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program in March 2011, to humanely trap, sterilize, and return feral cats to their original territory. TNR is proven as the most humane and cost-efficient way of controlling and decreasing the numbers of homeless cats. Councillor Mike Cohen, with Committee Chair Diane Liebling, spearhead the initiative, and along with a dedicated grou

p of volunteers run the program. Supporters include the Cote Saint Luc Animal Hospital, and the group is grateful for the financial support of the City of Cote Saint Luc. The committee maintains a hotline for residents to report feral cats in their area and works to educate the public about the importance of sterilizing cats and to inform the public about cat by-laws in Cote Saint Luc. Annual fundraising activities augment funding the committee receives to ensure the program can meet its objectives. Fundraisers have included an annual concert with the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra, a table at the Cote Saint Luc Mega Garage Sale in May, and and online raffle starting in September and going through to the end of November with the draw in December. Donations are always welcome, and tax receipts are available.

Hello All:

Does anyone know where we can find straw at this time of year?
It’s late in the season, but it’s going to
be very cold and a lot of people would like to top up their shelters.
Thx
Diane

For those who allow their cats to ‘free roam’, here is the weather for next week.
If you care about your pets, please keep them inside during this deep freeze.

After his owner passed away in hospital, poor little ‘Peanut’ was left in his apartment. His friends (the superintendent of the condo and his wife) told one of the vcops (CSL volunteer cop, thank you Tina)…and I was called in.

After a mere five weeks!…trying to trap a cat who absolutely and categorically refused to go into the trap, despite ‘trap training’ using tuna, chicken, sardines and every other food known to entice cats… AND hiding in a hole in a wall behind a bathtub, we finally called in the ‘Big Guns’.

My profound thanks to Eric Dusseault Sauvetage Animal Rescue, who was able to get this terrified cat out and into a trap today.

I will be forever grateful.

My thanks also to committee members, Marilyn and Abby, who were my moral support on this mission.

Enormous thanks to Maggie and Gerald who checked on, and fed, Peanut 3 to 4 times a day… Although they never saw him.

He is now at the Cote Saint luc Animal Hospital decompressing after his very traumatic experience.

We will find him a good home.

Hello CSL:

Does anyone recognize this cat spotted tonight eating on Melling?

Could also possibly have been spotted on McAlear near Guelph.

If he is your cat, please let me know.
Roaming ‘owned’ cats need to have a collar and tag from the city.

This cat, who goes by the name of ‘Lucky’ is missing from the Ellerdale Road area in Hampstead.
This is not far from NDG.

He is not neutered or microchipped, but has a collar.

It’s not ‘freedom’ to get hit by a car and die a slow, agonizingly painful death outside.
Yet…some people insist that their cats need to free roam in order to live their best lives.
It’s not the flex you think it is.
