South African Boerboel Winston just joined our on/off leash program after completing his puppy foundations

This “little guy” is 65lbs at 5 1/2 months and both parents are over 170lbs each 😧

He’ll be a lot of dog to handle in the future so we want to be proactive.

Denali and Aston being introduced to the Place Command This is one of THE GREATEST commands you can teach your dog. This is very different than having your dog go to their bed when asked. This command means that even if a cat covered in beef jerky runs by your dog will not move. Teaching your dog this command can eliminate many unwanted behaviours in the home. Teaching Geddy the Blind search 😎🤘 IGP is a hell of a sport to learn . It requires a lot of time , patience and the ability to troubleshoot. It can be incredibly frustrating at times but also so rewarding when things line up . Dont forget to follow us @baker_k9 @baker_k9_teri

That transition from on leash to off leash requires a leap of faith. You can spend so much time conditioning the behavior, and never be quite sure if it’s the right time to remove the leash. Here we have one of our private clients working his dog Thor for the first time testing his off leash heel. This dog training stuff can’t be faked. You’ve got to put in the repetitions in order for the dog to succeed. There are no shortcuts. This is why I never have to ask my clients “Have you done your homework?” . I simply look at the dog and they’ll let me know.😉
