CamHaven Farms specializes in equine rehabilitation, post-surgical care and fitness development.

Currently, we are looking for an individual to join our team FULL-TIME that has previous experience in equine rehabilitation and post-surgical care.

This role would suit a highly motivated, responsible individual interested in further advancing their career in the equine industry. You must have strong work ethics and have the best interest of the horse and pose compassion for the horse at all times!

Please be advised this position is NOT Monday to Friday. It does involve weekend shifts.

Lead-hand role
Administer medications
Ability to bandage change wound sites
Mucking Stalls
General barn duties

Camhaven Farm offers breaking and handling services of young horses in a stress-free environment giving your horse the best opportunity for a successful career.

Our breaking process consists of utilizing our Breaking Round Pen, which we call Circle of Learning.

The round pen is used for breaking young horses. This process serves as the foundation for later training. A well broke horse is less likely to injure itself and those around them.

The process begins with a horse and a small round closed area filled with sand and dirt. Our experienced handlers uses a lunge line to teach the horse to respond to the handlers voice and body commands.

The horse starts without a saddle, but will later progress in teaching the horse to accept a bridal, saddle and weight of a rider.

Once the horse is comfortable with the saddle the handler will be “belly-up” by laying over the horse’sback. When the horse is used to the weight, the rider will sit astride in the saddle.
