Part of what we deal with at the Turtledove Corral and Aviary

Are the presence of loose domestic dogs and cats

With the growing number of strays, every where ,(but especially in our rural area) , I’ve found that it’s increasingly difficult to find immediate solutions when we trap or come to be in custody of these abandoned souls

We have , over the 5 years we have been open, first as an aviary , then as a petting farm in 2020 and since, lost so many chickens and countless other injuries to other livestock
These losses cost us money and cause great sadness and grief to us. The work of eliminating carcasses of loved residences
And replacement of our lost so we can continue to provide animal interactions to families
All this becomes an anticipated part of our farm life season to season

We try to be respectful and responsible for the animals we come into custody of
We neuter cats and we find homes for them and the dogs we are able to handle, meaning if they are not feral or vicious
With 2 dogs if my own and a current foster, we quickly have run out of options Rescues are full

Here is what we need.
We need a 10x10 kennel ,like the one pictured, a large dog igloo (preferable) or decent dog house , and patio stones
This would allow me to keep a dog a few days until a foster placement can be arranged or a home secured

I believe someone has these items and maybe we could be considered for a donation

I ask if our supporters and my friends and acquaintances may keep a very close eye out for these items
Cash donations are always welcome and will currently be used to purchase these items as soon as possible if we can’t find them for free

The recent dog we had has been turned over to animal control
Another is in foster care, chopper is with us still, as are several nice strictly indoor cats.
But we need to expand our options so we can continue through 2025

We also need fosters set up and available when need arises. I need a husky familiar home ready , just in case.

We are once again taking pumpkin donations!
UNCUT and UNPAINTED is best please.

The animals benefit from the nutrional value of the pumpkin innards and the seeds act as a natural wormer for them!
Goats Eli the donkey the horses and the chickens and geese ALL Love pumpkins this time of year for extra fuel!

(We suggest, if you can’;t make your donation to our farm to take all pumpkins, including cut pumpkins with no paint and no wax into a wooded area for wildlife.)

Items for sale to help keep us open through the winter and hopefully seeing anohter summer season.

The cost of operating and caring for animals has increased...and we have not had the guests we used to.
We hope to run affordable camps and baseball programs next summer and to continue to provide donation based parties and family visits!

Hard working dedicated teen or adult volunteers needed

We are a donation based petting farm
Work to do includes winterizing and organizing the camp shed , weeding the pens, cleaning animal dwellings , some simple carpentry , cleaning flights , cleaning and storing toddler playthings from playground ,
Daily chores for those who can come regularly including watering , feeding , observing animal behaviour to assess wellness, and interacting with animals over winter to keep them socialized.

All volunteers will be trained to work around the animals

Volunteer appreciation events will be organized to emphasis my love 🙂

Youth Camps, Adult Fitness, Girls Baseball, Teen Retreats, Public and Private events! Visit the farm

We need a home for this lovely older female bunny, Prim(rose). She will need to be in a home with lots of out of cage time and gentle pets.
She does not like to be picked up but allows petting :) She has not shown to be a chewer. She currently lives with a bunny friendly cat.

GIRLS OFF SEASON CLINICS ARE Registering for fall indoor teeball academy program and 13U and 16U teams
TEEBALL ACADEMY : PLAYING THE GAME
and 13U GIrls: THINKING THE GAME L1
Starting on saturday mornings in oct and being held in ohsweken at the dajoh on 4th line
8:30 drop off 9am starting warmups-10:15
ages 7-9
Girls are not 10 before sept 1 2025
10:00 Girls will be dropped off to help set up and start their throwing program (taught in the first few weeks..)10:30 WARM UPS and Team building starts -12:00 girls ages 10-13
Cost is $125 for the session
Clinic shirt and hat are $60
Runs until dec
Possible winter session to follow starting in January tbd
Working towards the 2025 tournament season

***The Spring session is a commitment session. it will be anticipated that Girls in this session will play in the supplemental summer program (supplemental meaning weekend events typically, tournaments and ex games as I can set it up..so girls may be playing other “houseleagues” or other sports). The fee for the season is hinging which tournaments we want to do and how many ex games we anticipate, thus commitment is necessary by APRIL 3rd:) GIrls do not “have to” do the spring session to play summer season but it helps for sure! Summer session players who play spring clinic season will get a $50 discount. Typically we are looking at $250 for summer season to include uniform, ex games, insurance, picture and year end event 🙂 Tournaments may be additional and are usually $50-$60 each player, but notice will be given for sure and the team decides which tournament they want to do. We usually have a girls tournament option and I may try to find a houseleague tournament for us or maybe we will host one 🙂
