DAISY - ADOPTED

Hi, I’m Daisy! I was born on August 9th, which makes me just a baby, and I’m an American Bulldog weighing around 13lbs of pure puppy energy. I’m wobbly, curious, full of love, and maybe a little bit of chaos… but the good kind! I’m learning about the world every day, and I think it’s pretty amazing. Now for the special needs part of me. I wobble. I have wobbled since I could walk. My parents were siblings and well… no one is sure exactly what causes my wobbling. I have seen a neurologist and even they are not sure as all my testing came back normal.

I’m great with other dogs.. I love to play, wrestle, and zoom around! Sometimes I forget that not everyone wants their face nibbled by puppy teeth (I’m working on that part). My foster family helps me learn when it’s time to take a break, and I do really well when given a toy or a little crate time to cool off. I’d probably be fine with a dog-savvy cat and I love kids, though they’ll need to understand that I can be a bit of a “tiny raptor” when I get excited.

I’m crate trained, though I’m not a big fan yet. If I can see you and can’t be with you, I’ll definitely let you know… FOMO is real! I eventually settle down, though. I’m still working on house training; with the cold weather, I’d rather stay cozy inside, and I’ve been known to “fake” that I don’t have to go… until we’re back indoors. Oops!
My energy level is very puppy-ish… I’ll zoom, play, crash, and repeat all day long. I’m a little loud when I don’t get what I want or when I’m left alone, so I might not be the best fit for shared walls right now. But I’m learning to be more independent and brave!

I do great in the car… I’ll snooze happily in your arms or curl up in the backseat. Because I’m a bit wobbly, it’s safest to have me tethered so I don’t lose my balance. I love puppy bones, stuffies, and honestly anything I can get my paws on.
I’m looking for a home that understands I’m both a typical, silly, growing puppy and a special girl with some mobility challenges. My wobbles don’t slow me down one bit, but my family will need to keep me safe around stairs, hills, and heights. I can go for walks, but I won’t be a hiker or adventure dog… I’ll make up for it with endless cuddles, kisses, and loyalty. I love my people with my whole heart and just want a home that loves me right back.

That’s right, our Tappin Stallion is dancing his way right into his forever home this week! He has the most adorable, loving, hilarious personality and we can’t wait to hear all of the stories of him bringing joy to his family.

ADOPT ME - GENTLY

We are officially opening up adoption applications for Gently! This sweet guy is an adorable 3 year old wobbly pup ready to snuggle his way into your heart. He is a unicorn behaviourally, who does well with dogs, cats, children (including infants) and livestock. He will make an excellent addition to a family looking for a friendly, goofy dog. 🐾

Gently has cerebellar hypoplasia, which has earned him the “Tappin Stallion” nickname. The condition affects his coordination, so his walk has a little more pizzaz than other dogs, which is not something that worsens with age, causes any pain, or requires medication. He would be a great “first” for a family open to adopting a puppy with a disability, as he does everything his typical pals does, with the occasional extra help (like getting a boost into the car!).

Gently is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccines, so he’s ready to join his forever home. He would do best with a family looking for an affectionate companion who enjoys snuggling and being pet.

EMERGENCY INTAKE - ALFIE

Our newest intake, Alfie, is so matted that we can’t even tell if he has two eyes.

We got the call about him being caught after running the streets and picked him up this afternoon. He stinks to high heavens, and his fur is pulling terribly.His condition is so severe that accessing a vein to perform a heartworm test was impossible.

Medically, we have no idea what we are in for. But we know he needs us. Despite everything, this sweet boy wagged his tail for us and wanted to be held and pet.

Step one will be having Alfie put under anesthesia to be fully shaved down and assessed by our vet team. We will be able to get more information from there.

We are in need of emergency donations towards his care. There is no telling what his vetting is going to total at this point, but his severe condition leads us to believe there is likely a lot going on.
