I’d like to take the time and wish a huge congratulations to all my clients out there crushing it at their horse shows!!! I’ve seen a few division champions, a few pairs winning their money classes, a few pairs moving up in division heights and a few first time horse shows. I appreciate all my clients understanding that I’ve slowly been dropping down to a few days a week this summer to focus on my own horse shows, but I’m so glad I can still put some lucky show shoes on other horses aswell 💖

As of October 1rst trimming prices will be increased to $60 per trim. This includes horses, mini ponies and donkeys. And no herd discounts 🐴☺️ Currently only booking Tuesdays at Willowgrove, Wednesdays at Rocky 6S, Thursdays at Sunrise, and Fridays are catch up days. Thank you for understanding!

Wizard Forge and Farrier would like to congratulate Courtney Collette for winning employee of the month 5 years in a row! Showing exemplary improvement in both skills and community involvement, we would like to award her with an all inclusive trip to Nova Scotia. From working on minis to warmbloods, trimming to therapeutic work, rain or shine. Being involved in many pony club presentations, local riding club sponsorship, local show farrier, and show jumping enthusiast, we feel she is well deserving of this vacation. Enjoy your full week away this May!

With the new year comes new changes! I will be reducing my hours in the new year, and will be trying out a new consistent weekly schedule. The schedule is still in the works, and so far, is as follows:

Mondays: Twin Valley Stables
Tuesdays: Willowgrove Stables
Wednesdays: Rocky 6S Ranch Stables
Thursdays: Sunrise Stables?
Fridays: smaller barns and individual stops
Saturdays: available all day for emergencies
Sundays: OFF

I will be taking most weekends off come spring and summer for horse show season. There will be some wiggle room available during the week on smaller days. Any questions or concerns please let me know!

Happy holidays from team Wizard Forge and Farrier! I will be unavailable for any work December 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26th. As well as December 29, 30, 31, and January 1rst, to spend time with my family and critters. I will be in cell service for emergency phone calls or texts!

My new hoodie finally came in the mail!! 😻 I should have listened when Adam said that the World Championship Blacksmiths would surely have a booth at the Spruce Meadows Masters, which they totally did. At least I got tons of other swag while I was there, and got to watch the top 10 and top 5 farriers shoe some horses! Met a lot of blacksmiths I follow on social media aswell, shook some really talented hands! And thank you to Teresa Valois Humpage aswell for being my USA hook up 😆 this hoodie is killer! 😹

As of October 1rst 2023, Wizard Forge and Farrier shoeing prices will be raised in order to keep up with increased material costs and increased costs of living, aswell at the very high demand of farriers currently in the area.
Front shoes will now be $160
A full set will be $220
Cork holes will remain at $5/hole
Dental impression material (putty) will be charged to reset

Big and small, we do them all! Okay let’s be honest, I have a huge preference to ponies. With my smaller size and previous back injuries, I have a very difficult time doing large horses and draft sizes. But I love jumper ponies the most!

Got to build my first collateral ligament shoe. Vet recommended for a medial collateral injury, and to take the toe back as far as possible. With some ideas from the internet I think it turned out pretty fancy, horse seemed to like it! Helps that he was a perfect boy start to finish.

Wizard Forge and Farrier is now FULL for the summer, and will not be taking on any new clients at this time.
Here are some important dates where I will not be able to do any work, fix any shoes and very unlikely to take any phone calls:
May 20, 21, 22 (vacation)
June 2, 3, 4 (paramount jump into summer)
June 23, 24, 25 (cochrane horse trials show farrier)
July 12-16 (RMSJ)
July 21, 22, 23 (paramount jumping the heat)
August 11, 12, 13 (paramount summer classic)
August 25, 26, 27 (wedding)
September 6-10 (WCB championships at the Masters)
And more unconfirmed dates. As always, I do not book work on sundays or mondays. Thank you for your understanding!

Finally switched out the ‘ice pin bit’ with the ‘corking bit’! Knocked the rust off of my tap too, and we are ready for spring! Lucky girl even got some pads and putty for when the ground gets really rocky or hard.

Trying out some new 3D frog support pads with soft glu-u dental impression material on these hind feet! She’s always had low heels that don’t seem to want to grow back, we will see if these help. These pads are supposed to mimic the frog as accurately as possible, with shock absorption, soft tissue engagement and even some traction. They currently come in pink (narrow) or black (regular) in flat and wedge. If I like them I’ll try the wedges on her fronts! Giggles the Guinea pig.
