My name is Rachel and I am a life-long cat lover. I live in Fairview, so if you are out and about on a fine day in our neighbourhood, you may see me walking my geriatric cats Ivan and Leo in my front yard.
I know first-hand the strain that being away from home can put on cats and their humans. Hiring a sitter allows for your cat's routine to be impacted as little as possible by your absence. They can get their food and any of their usual medication at the regular time and their water and litter will remain fresh and clean.
Cats are more social than we give them credit for, so I believe it is important to spend time being attentive to cats when they are missing their humans. I will find out from you what your cats like - playing, cuddling, brushing, sitting quietly - and make sure they get plenty of that while you are away.
Sometimes we worry about our cats and homes when we are travelling - we spend too much time wondering if everything is okay at home and this can impact our trip negatively. In my experience, worry-demons can be banished instantly if I am sent a single picture of my cats at home on that day. If you wish, I will send you updates and pictures of your cat daily so you know all is well. I can also make your home look lived-in by taking in the mail and moving your recycling/garbage bins.
