This weekend had me on the floor (literally 😂) I am still in shock by how well my home grown junior doe, Wren did… at just shy of 5 months this little girl got best or breed in two shows!!!! Beating her dad, the one and only Famous! I had a really good feeling about her from the first time I posed her as a baby. This was my first show I had gotten a leg with a home grown… and for it to be BOB!!! I cried! She competed against some really amazing rabbits and lines so this is Such a huge moment for me and my lines… raising hollands has been an incredibly challenging journey, but this weekend has given me back all the motivation I was feeling a lack of. I am extremely proud of her and myself and I will cherish this weekend for a long time. AND not only that my homegrown mini rex senior buck, Kyle also got two best of breed and one best opposite s*x of breed too! (Even if it was only because Cat wasn’t there 🤣) Regardless it was also super exciting as he was from my second litter of mini rex ever! I haven’t been working with them for very long, and even though the classes were small it was another incredible moment for my lines. Lastly my new buck, Brock’s Fallen Ears’ Vincent a handsome Senior orange buck who I got from the lovely Thompson girls in Washington got Best opposite s*x of breed one show too! This weekend was one of the best shows for my rabbits that I’ve participated in. I am incredibly grateful to EARS, judges James Goodrich and Samantha Henderson, and the town of Bruderheim for such a wonderful weekend.
And yes I sure did make my own awards 🤣🤣

While it may not have been the end to show season that I had imaged 😅 I’m still very happy and grateful for this weekend! Famous took another Best of Breed award ❤️
This weekend was my first time showing Mini Rex and I’m very pleased with how it went! All my bunnies placed and most took home legs too! Including my home grown 11 week old buck and doe (Kevin and Kendall) both taking best of variety! I didn’t have very high expectations entering them as it was more for their own show handling experience but was I ever surprised and happy by their performance on the tables!

A huge congratulations to everyone who brought home awards this weekend, you all truly earned them!
Thank you to the EARS committee, Farm Fair International, the judges and all my friends who made this weekend possible!

This may be a wrap to the 2022 showing but I’m already preparing for my spring show come back! It has been an incredible year of learning and growth. ❤️🐰

It is with a heavy heart I announce the temporary closing of Hot Crossed Buns Rabbitry….
This is due to the recent confirmed outbreak of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) in Calgary.
Our closing is a cautionary measure that will be taken to help keep every bunny safe! We have increased our bio security protocol and are doing all we can do prevent contracting and spreading the disease.
We will still have our rabbits, still be breeding and posting updates, but for the next few months we will not be selling any rabbits, toys, treats or offering any in person services.
Please be safe and do your part to educate yourself and prevent the spread of RHDV.
I will attach some informational links and photos to this post.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out and I will do my best to help out!

A little late, but I’ve been busy getting everything settled back home after the K-Days Show this weekend!!! Famous once again is living up to his name and was quite popular this weekend! Winning two Best of Breed awards and Reserve in Show under judge Cathy Szychulda!! What an honour it has been to have this little man around! Huge thank you to everyone who was involved in hosting and planning another amazing event, and congratulations to the other exhibitors and their buns!
