What a great idea for meal feeding your furry flocks! 😁🤩 with just an ikea shelf laying down, you have 6 little feeding troughs to seperate food bowls and reduce visual intimidation from other dogs! So smart! 👍🏼

Great news just released today regarding travel with your dog to the US!! 🎉😅
You will no longer need the Veterinarian export form! Hooray! This will greatly simplify the process but you will still need:
-The Dog Import Form
-Scannable Microchip
-Dog must be over 6 months of age
-Rabies vaccine within 30 days of travel and it’s appropriate documentation
-History of the dog residing in Canada or another low risk Rabies country for the previous 6 months

Travelling to the US? Make sure you have the correct paperwork in place with an up to date Rabies certificate and microchip! Currently, you will need a form filled and signed by your veterinarian and the separate CDC Dog Import Form!!

UPDATE FROM ABVMA REGARDING DOGS TRAVELLING TO THE US.

Dogs travelling on or after August 1, 2024

The United States (U.S.) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently announced upcoming changes to the import requirements for dogs entering the U.S.

These changes will come into effect on August 1, 2024, and will impact all dogs entering the U.S.

The CFIA is actively engaging with the U.S. CDC to discuss and clarify these new requirements. At this time, the process and documents needed for dogs travelling from Canada to the U.S. have not been finalized. The information found on this page is to help individuals start preparing in advance but are not the complete requirements.

Please keep your pets safe in summer 🐾☀️Save for later and share with your fellow pet owner friends 🔥 With the temperature climbing this week, heat related issues can affect your pet’s health!

Here are some things to look out for, and ways to keep your dog summer safe ☀

Signs of overheating in dogs:
- Heavy, frantic panting
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Excessive drooling or thick saliva
- Bright red gums and tongue
- Rapid or irregular heart rate
- Seizures or muscle tremors
- Instability and lack of coordination
- Collapse and unconsciousness

💧 Make sure your pets have plenty of water. Refill water bowls often.

✅ Monitor your pets for signs of distress or fatigue. However lowered activity level or appetite could be normal, just as we humans often feel less energetic in hot weather.

🚗 Never leave your dog in a car - even 5 minutes is too long! Dogs can get dehydrated quickly.

🐾 Beware of hot pavement. Try to walk your dog in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.

🐶 Some breeds are more susceptible due to their compressed snouts affecting their breathing, especially in hot weather - pugs, bulldogs, Cavalier King Charles spaniels.

Contact your vet or bring your pet to the nearest animal hospital if you think they are suffering from dehydration or heat stroke.

🩺🐾 Today, on June 18th, we celebrate the heroes who keep our furry friends healthy and happy! 🐾🩺

On Veterinary Appreciation Day, the Task Force honours the dedicated veterinary professionals who tirelessly support our spay and neuter clinics! 💚💙

This year, 45 Veterinarians and 50 Registered Veterinary Technologists have assisted the Task Force with 3 spay and neuter clinics. This has resulted in 1,237 animals assisted in 2024 so far. Thank YOU! 🐾✨
