Everyone meet Kali! For we have Kali in the spotlight. She has been in the veterinary industry for four years and just reached her two years with Trinity! She is currently working as a technician assistant while pursuing her career as a Veterinary Technician. When Kali isn’t working, you can find her studying, hanging with family/friends and her dog Sunny! 🐾🩵 ✨Kali’s superpower✨ Always willing to lend a helping hand and ensuring each patient is tucked into their beds, making them feel as comfortable as possible.

This week for we had this handsome boy named Oscar! Oscar was admitted to us for acute GI signs and lethargy. At home, he vomited up what seemed to be pieces of a cork. Dr. Suttie performed an exploratory laparotomy - gastrotomy and jejunal enterotomy and she ended up removing fabric strands and plastic chewed up material. Oscar’s surgery went well and we are happy to report that is back home with his family as happy as ever 🐾🩵

Everyone meet Lexi! For we have Lexi in the spotlight. She brings years of animal care experience to Trinity through her previous work in previous clinics, veterinary research and teaching! When Lexi isn't working, you can find her at her local coffee shops reading, writing, or studying to become a Veterinary Technician! 🐾🩵 ✨Lexi's superpower✨ Ensuring every patient has a cozy bed to rest in and feels comfortable during their hospital stay.

Everyone meet Oso! This beautiful boy was admitted to us for getting his bone stuck to his jaw. 🦴 Upon examination, the doctor noticed that the bone was lodged over the mandibular canines and we could not remove it with gentle traction. Oso was then sedated and our doctor was able to successfully remove the bone resulting in mild abrasions and no dental fractures! 😁 We are happy to report that Oso recovered well from sedation and was back home in no time! 🐾🩵

Everyone meet Emili! For we have Emili in the spotlight. Growing up, Emili’s mom was a huge animal lover like herself so growing up she was surrounded by all different kinds of species and fostered many medically complex animals. This is something that Emili has continued to do into adulthood and she frequently takes care of cats in need until they are healthy enough to be adopted or to go to another foster home. She truly loves all animals and one day plans on becoming a veterinary technician when the time is right. 🐾🩵 ✨Emili’s superpower✨ being a HUGE cat lover she would say her cat whisperer abilities.

Everyone meet Fynn! For we have this sweet snuggle bug who was admitted to us for ingesting socks. 🧦 While Fynn was able to vomit one of the socks up before being admitted the other sock was already lodged in the pylorus which resulted in an upper GI endoscopy performed by Dr. Suttie! We are happy to report that Fynn’s recovery has been smooth and he is back home with his family. 🐾🩵

Everyone meet Jill! For we have Jill in the spotlight. She grew up in Okotoks with dogs and cats and at a very young age fell in love with horses which lead her to competitive show jumping which she did for 15 years! Jill has been in the industry for 11 years and made the switch from general practice to emergency in December 2021. ER will always be her place. In her spare time, Jill enjoys hanging out with her family, mountain biking, and spending time with her two old English bulldogs either snuggling or going on walks. 🐾🩵 ✨Jill’s superpower✨ being able to remain calm and works well under emergency situations.

Everyone meet Kaitlyn! For we have Kaitlyn in the spotlight. She grew up a few hours outside of Calgary and moved here in the fall of 2019. She enrolled in the Veterinary Office and Technician Assistant program at Robertson College and soon after was hired at Trinity! Kaitlyn enjoys the fast paced environment of emergency medicine and loves that everyday brings something new. When Kaitlyn isn’t working, she enjoys going on hikes with her friends and hanging out with her miniature pincher Jax, and two cats Thorin and Lex! 🐾🩵 ✨Kaitlyn’s superpower✨ Her ability to remain calm during emergency situations and her attention to detail.

Everyone meet Diana! For we have Diana in the spotlight! She grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan and spent her childhood showing horses across Canada and the United States. She has worked in the industry starting in general practice for the last 8 years and has been with us 1 1/2 years and loves the high paced atmosphere of emergency medicine. In her free time, Diana enjoys watching football and loves cozy nights snuggled up on the couch with her pup. ✨Diana’s superpower✨ Definitely multitasking. The fast paced environment of emergency medicine always has multiple things going on at once. She takes pride in being able to handle the chaos while being there to comfort and assist the pet parents during stressful times. 🐾🩵

Everyone meet Loki! For we have this cool boy! 😎 Loki was admitted to us for an upper GI endoscopy for foreign body removal. While being scoped, Dr. Suttie was able to retrieve a small pumpkin toy from the stomach. There was no irritation to the esophagus, very mild irritation to the stomach and no other foreign material found. We are happy to say that Loki made a smooth recovery after anesthesia and is back home with his family. 🎃🐾🩵
