Founded in 2000, MEOW Foundation is a cat-focused registered charity and humane society with a no-kill mandate located in Calgary, Canada.

In addition to our Rescue and Adoption program, MEOW Foundation offers a subsidized Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), Cat Food Assistance Program and Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Program. Our volunteers and staff are passionate about providing the best care to every cat and dedicated to providing the best services to our supporters. His days are spent in quiet contemplation, bursts of playtime antics, resting in cozy corners and keeping an eye out for visitors. His gentle demeanor and loving nature make him a wonderful companion.

💙Ranger has been in MEOW care for 243 days and counting.

The way to his heart? Catnip! He is a charming cat, but is meant for someone who has a bit more cat experience and understands body language and petting thresholds.

Due to Ranger's time as a tough street guy, he has contracted Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Cats with FIV should be single cats in the home, but can live long happy lives with normal attentive care. We’re thrilled to share an update on two of our beloved alumni, Tickler (now Bertie) and Zeecat (now Reggie)! After 405 days in care, they were adopted and have been settling into their new home perfectly.
Their adopter reports that Bertie and Reggie are both extremely happy and relaxed. They spend their days playing together, snuggling up for naps, and showing off their big personalities. It’s clear they’ve found the perfect match in each other and their new home.

We’re so grateful to their adopter for sharing this heartwarming update and allowing us to share their adorable photos and videos. Here’s to many more happy moments for Bertie and Reggie!

Napheesa is a sweet and gentle soul, eager to thrive in a caring environment. 💙

Her journey began when kind neighbours noticed this little stray in need of help and stepped in to rescue her. Though shy at first, it didn’t take long for Napheesa to warm up. Within a few days, she was peeking out from her hidey bed, and soon after, she made her full debut, revealing her affectionate side.

Lanceleaf is dreaming and hoping his forever home will soon appear. 🤞🏻

Lanceleaf is a wee guy who was rescued from a situation where all his housemates had upper respiratory virus. Since the virus had not been treated in a timely fashion, Lanceleaf has to deal with eyes that tend to weep a bit.

He will need someone who is ok with giving him a helping hand to gently clean his eyes with a warm compress as needed. He is a sweet and affectionate furball who loves his food. All he needs is a chance to cuddle his way into your heart. 💙

Taking care of feral cat colonies is super important! 💙

TNR or Trap, Neuter, Return is one of the many community programs MEOW participates in. Through our TNR program, we partner with individuals in our community to care for feral cats.

With the help of these caretakers, we are able to humanely trap these cats, get them vaccinated, microchipped, fixed and back to their colony. Overpopulation is an issue that MEOW constantly works to combat. 💪

By getting feral cats spayed and neutered, we are able to slow down and hopefully one day decrease the size of feral colonies in Southern Alberta.

✨Meet Harissa, our charming 6-year-old feline with a playful spirit and a big personality.

New Foster Needed! Meet Bojangles (Bo)💙

This cat has a big personality. He loves pets—when he's in the mood—and will nudge you for attention, flopping over for tummy rubs. Other times, he might shy away, but if he initiates contact, he purrs like he's discovering the joys of affection for the first time.

Not fond of being picked up, Bo often goes stiff like a bag of sticks but tolerates it, making it easier to move him around. He’s eager for feline friends but can get a bit too rough during play. He quickly backs off when corrected, though he doesn’t quite understand the fuss.

His intelligence is impressive. Bo figured out door handles quickly, leading to child locks on his room. To engage his sharp mind, he gets his meals in toys or puzzles. Always on the lookout for extra treats, he loves sneaking food, even attempting to snag a slice of pizza.

This clever and curious cat brings joy and intrigue to every moment, and he’s looking for a forever home that appreciates his unique blend of curiosity and affection.
