We started off our Christmas holiday with an unexpected turn of events. Charlie ended up needing an emergency C-section after complications arose. She began bleeding internally, and the situation became critical. Thankfully, the amazing team at the vet acted quickly, and she was able to be stabilized.

Charlie was hospitalized overnight for recovery, and we’re relieved to share that she gave birth to seven beautiful puppies. Unfortunately, one little one passed away due to being breech in the birth canal. However, the other six – four girls and two boys – are strong, healthy, and thriving.

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster, but we’re grateful for Charlie’s strength and the support of our veterinary team. Here’s to a hopeful and healing Christmas for our little family.

The last week before the arrival of our littles!

Pregnancy Day by Day:

Day 48

The female starts to be visibly larger. At this stage, female may lose her appetite. Fetuses pushes the internal organs of female, most in the digestive tract.

Day 49

Day 50

Organs are already well developed. Belly is crowded with puppies and we can see their sporadic movement (swarming). Female in this period may (but may not) lose her appetite. We feed more often and small doses. The total daily dose should be gradually increased by 25-50%.

Day 51

Female starts to relax and look for a suitable place to give birth.

Day 52

For some more of milk females, can occur spontaneous release of milk from the teats. Female often rests.

Day 53

The female is resting and preparing for the birth.

Day 54

The female is resting and preparing for the birth. As the last internal organ develop lungs.

Day 55

The body of the fetus is covered with coat, but the coat on the feet is even less visible. Claws are already developed. Starts pigmentation of skin. Size of fetus is 145 mm. The female is resting and preparing for the birth.

Day 56

Starts calcification of teeth. The female is resting and preparing for the birth.

12/15/2024

A **shock collar** and a **bark collar** are both used for training dogs, but they serve different purposes and work in distinct ways:

1. **Shock Collar**: This is a more general-purpose training tool that delivers an electrical shock to the dog when activated, usually in response to undesirable behavior, such as running away, jumping, or excessive barking. Shock collars often have adjustable levels of stimulation, ranging from mild to intense, and can be triggered remotely by the owner or automatically when the dog crosses a boundary (in the case of invisible fences). They can be used for a variety of training needs, not just barking.

2. **Bark Collar**: Specifically designed to curb excessive barking, these collars are triggered by the sound of the dog’s bark or vibration from the dog’s vocal cords. Most bark collars use a mild correction, such as a spray of citronella, a high-pitched sound, or a small shock, to discourage barking. Some bark collars use progressive stimulation, increasing intensity with each bark until the dog learns to stop.

# # # Key Differences:
- **Purpose**: A shock collar is more versatile and used for general training, while a bark collar is specifically designed to address barking.
- **Activation**: Shock collars can be triggered by a remote control or automatically by a behavior, while bark collars are usually activated by the sound or vibration of the dog’s bark.
- **Correction Type**: Shock collars use electric shocks, whereas bark collars might use a variety of corrections, including sound, vibration, or spray.

Both types of collars should be used with care, as misuse or over-reliance on them can cause stress or fear in dogs. It’s generally recommended to consult with a professional trainer before using such devices.
