Alumni Kluane had a run in with a skunk last night. Her adoptable foster sister Reese was less than impressed by the whole situation. She did not get sprayed by the smelly kitty. So if you would like a dog that says heck no to smelly kitties do we have a dog for you!

Meet Dhalia!

Dhalia is an 3 year old girl. She is an absolute gem on leash! Her favourite kind of walk involves lots of sniffs and is more of a meander. Dhalia enjoys taking time to calmly look around and enjoy her surroundings. If encouraged to run, she does little bunny hops and wags her super floofy tail. Dhalia enjoys being social with both people and dogs. Her ideal home would have another dog, so she has a buddy. Also, Dhalia would love a forever family that would take her on adventures!

Meet Gypsy!

Gypsy is an 7 month old shy girl who adores her people. Once she gets to know you, Gypsy is very affectionate and cuddly. Instead of sitting pretty for pictures, Gypsy prefers to go full mode. She is learning how tasty treats can be, and enjoys going on walks. This girl is good with dogs, but is still working on her puppy manners. Gypsy would love a forever family that would take her on adventures!

Today is the day! The Day of the Dog located at The Confluence Historic Site (Fort Calgary) from 11am-4pm Saturday & Sunday. This event is free to enter, and there are many different activities and vendors. Please note that some activities are a paid experience.

You can find us at the Chasin' Tails Dog Care Center booths. If you have a Pups & Pints passport, see us to get a bonus stamp! We also have glitter stamps for $5!

Please meet Reese. Some of you may think she looks familiar. She is a Halo Husky Alumni whose family was no longer able to keep her so she is back with us to find the best home.

Some things to know about Reese, firstly obviously she is not a husky lol but we love her anyways. Reese is a timid girl who likes a little wining and dining when she meets new people. Once she opens up she is super affectionate and will make it well known when cuddles are necessary.

Reese is approximately a 5 year old rottweiler mix, and she has advanced hip dysplasia. After consulting with our vets we do not feel surgery would give her the long term benefits we hope for so she is currently on a medication routine to help her feel her best and give her her best quality of life. A new home would have to be willing to accept this as part of her adoption.

She is still quite active and her foster mom says
Reese has a passion for diving for rocks, going on walks, and playing fetch. Squeaky toys are her absolute favorite. She's perfectly house-trained and sleeps soundly through the night. During the day, she roams the house freely without any issues and gets along well with her foster sister.

Reese's favorite spots to relax are on the couch and outside on the porch, where she loves to keep an eye on the neighborhood.

Reese would do best in a home with older or no children as she can take longer to warm up to them. She prefers dogs her own size, she's a bit too excited around smalls.
