For those of you wishing to travel into the USA , the rules are changing Aug 1, 2024. And the best part, the rules have not been finalized yet. Bothe the CFIA and CkC in Canada are working with US CDC to improve what the Americans have proposed. But, these screenshot photos will give you the basics to prepare for.

I am still trying to get my head around the new animal importation rules put into place by the American CDC starting Aug. In short, there are many hoops and costs for dogs entering the States. Simplified, all dogs must have a microchip, current Rabies vacc, a form filled out by your vet, and countersigned by a CFIA veterinarian. If you have travel plans to the USA with your dog after Aug 1, you better check this out.

As you know Joy's show career is over because she achieved her Canadian Championship. Yesterday we received a prize she won. Of course the hair is gone and she is having fun with Lucy and Lily and we are in a Rally O Foundation course at Hyper Hounds . But this photo took our breath away.

Yes, it was a fantastic litter May 13, 2019 with mom Lily and dad Zar. Goose, Eh!Jax, Fezziwig, Kai, North, Ryker, Capri, and Nisha. And sadly Bodhi leaving at 11 weeks. I missed it. So belated greetings!

Jackie & Abbey were once again Star's winning BIS& Best scissored in show at the Tacoma Grooming Competition.

We have been so fortunate with the weather for our 6 Registered Standard Poodle pups. They have loved being outside. On snow days they still go outside but after about 10 minutes they are finished their business and return to the door. The pups and our adult dogs are trained to ring the bell that hangs from our outside door know, when they want outside. When we call them back in, we ring the bell again and calling " puppuppup" brings them back to the door. Hint to new owners: they will poop outside about 20 minutes after one of the 3 meals a day they have. The snacks between meals is a few crumbles on the floor to do a search project around the edge of the kitchen. Craft period is small pieces of cardboard that they can test their new teeth on. Especially if they are chewing on your ankles, have small pieces of cardboard ready to replace your ankle with cardboard in their mouth.

the Best Dog You will Ever have.

Dr Bruce Rodger DVM and Pamela Rodger have been breeding standard poodles for over 35 years. From years of being a Veterinarian and also as a family man, Dr. Bruce became more enchanted by the standard poodle breed. Their intelligence and their method of folding into a family or single owner, made him realize that once you have a poodle, you don’t go back.

The founding line (from Belcourt, Bragg Creek, AB.) that Rodgers chose, was best suited because of its grounded personality, love of outdoors and ability to enjoy challenge skills and games.

We are a very small breeding program and our mom + grandmother poodles are our personal dogs. We are very selective about where we place our poodle kids and require that we really get to know the FOREVER Families and they get to know us and understand our intentions. We commit ourselves to our poodle owners, for the rest of the poodle’s life.

We choose our breeding couple carefully. They are all C.K.C Registered Standard Poodles and have gone through a series of lab and x-ray test until they are 2 years old, before they are confirmed as perfect for a breeding program. The males are chosen after carefully considering temperament, how they were raised and what health issues are in their line. We keep our retired moms as they are family. We have learnt that the best teachers for the pups are their grandmother and older sister. Polly (Chocolate mother to Lilly) and Lilly ( cream mother of chocolate Lucy) are retired. At this point March 2020, Lucy has passed all her genetic screening, skin biopsies, blood work and hip x-rays. Lucy is moving into her future mother roll. We already know she’ll be a good mom as she has had hours of tending and playing with her siblings from her mom Lilly.
