Second application of the EasyShoe Roller for this cute pony 🐴 with chronic laminitis. His owners report he's been sound this winter ❄️ without the abscessing of previous years. 👍

We used a shore 15A silicone packing with equimesh for support and cushion and to help repel snow from balling up and traction pins

Monty's friend Butterscotch got her feet trimmed as well, she loves him dearly ❤️

Chronic laminitis requires a thoughtful approach 👏 This pony is now sporting the new EasyCare roller glue-on shoes for enhanced support and comfort. We used shore 15A silicone packing to cushion the hooves and reduce snow build-up, paired with C11 drive-in pins for added traction. Practical, effective solutions for winter care! ❄️

🐴 Case Success Story: From Quarter Cracks to Healthy Hooves 🐴

Earlier this year, this beautiful horse came to us as a referral. Imported from Europe, he arrived with quarter cracks on both front hooves, medially and laterally.

Our approach: 1️⃣ We resected all four cracks, cleaned them thoroughly, and stabilized them with metal sutures. 2️⃣ We applied an acrylic glue patch, skipping the stent since there was no bleeding or high abscess risk. 3️⃣ To support his weakened hoof walls, we used a hoof cast and fitted him with steel shoes and 3D half mesh pads.

With some great progress, he enjoyed a summer off as we transitioned him to barefoot. Now, only a small patch of glue remains as his last crack grows out, and the others have fully healed!

This journey took time and patience, but it’s all worth it seeing him happy, healthy, and crack-free! 🐎

🎉 Event Highlights 🎉

Anvil Toss Competition: Celebrate Lance’s historic win of the inaugural anvil toss in 1984, featured on the cover of American Farriers Journal!

Specimen Shoe Class: Competitors will recreate the concave bar shoes Lance forged for Linda Southern at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

Roadster Class: A one-hour challenge to build a pair of roadsters.

Food & Refreshments: Good food, good company, and time to share stories.
All are welcome, whether you're a farrier, a friend, or someone who loves the art. Let’s make this day a true celebration of Lance’s legacy. 🐴💪

Our Mega Clinic is returning! This year we will partner with N49 and are moving the event to Olds!
Clinic will be 2 days this year, and on the 3rd day anyone who wants to go skiing can hit the Slopes with the crew for a mega fun day.

As someone who cares deeply about the well-being and performance of my clients' horses, I’m always looking for the best tools and techniques to support hoof health. 🛠️ Hoof Care Update 🐴

This week we worked on a mare that developed an infection of the white line, which required a dorsal hoof wall resection to properly treat the issue. This procedure allows us to remove the infected area and ensure the hoof can heal from the inside out. 🦶

The mare is already feeling more comfortable, and with proper aftercare, she'll be back on her feet in no time. Preventative care and early detection are key to keeping our horses happy and healthy! 💪🐎
