You've likely never seen a great white shark in an aquarium and there's a good reason for it. They simply do not survive past a few months on average in captivity. This does make it more difficult to study them but some things are probably meant to be left where we find them.

What do you think? Should we keep trying to keep them in an effort to understand and help this endangered predator or are they better off on their own?

Green Star Polyp (or GSP) is one of our favorite corals! It grows easily, has a bright green colour, and is a great option for covering empty spaces on your liverock.

Automatic feeders!

Great little devices, but they can be somewhat inconsistent when used improperly. These food piles were all from the same feeder. Here are a few tips to make sure that you get the best performance out of your feeder.

1. Only use one type of food. Multiple types can clog, and result in different feed amounts each feeding.

2. Make sure your flakes (if using flakes) are crushed a bit so they tumble out easier. Fish flakes are quite large right from the container. Pellets are probably your best choice for auto feeders.

3. Do a few test feeds on a dish or the lid of your food jar to ensure that you are not feeding too much.
