While Away was established in 1999 and has grown one client at a time. We currently have 25+ caregivers serving over 1500 customers in Calgary and surrounding areas (Airdrie, Cochrane, Bragg Creek, High River and Springbank). While Away is fully licensed, insured and bonded. All caregivers have completed a criminal record check and a vigorous interview process. While Away is also a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) where we have an A+ rating for the outstanding service we provide to our clients. We at While Away are passionate about the work we do. We absolutely adore animals of all kinds and love knowing that we can provide our clients with peace of mind when leaving their home and pets in our care. In this issue, we’ll share a list of harmful substances to help prevent avoidable cat-astrophes and maintain your kitty's health and happiness.

What to Do if Your Cat Eats Something Toxic ☠️

Act fast! Follow these steps:

🔹 Gather info — Save any packaging and note how much your cat ate and when.
🔹 No symptoms yet? Call Pet Poison Helpline (800) 213-6680 for guidance.
🔹 Showing symptoms? Head to your vet or the nearest emergency animal hospital ASAP.

Prevent Poisoning:

✅ Store toxic items in high or locked cabinets.
✅ Keep emergency numbers saved in your phone.
✅ Watch your feline friend outside—trash and spills are hazards!
✅ Use pet-safe products and cat-proof your home.
