We’re a volunteer-led, community farm that provides farm education & donates 100% of the food we grow Grow Calgary is Canada’s largest urban community farm.

We are a nonprofit organization that grows fresh produce for social agencies in Calgary with food access programs. Thanks to our volunteers and the generous spirit of the community, we have managed to donate to over 40 Compassionate Food Access Agencies in Calgary, with 95% of our recipients being women and children. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that all residents of Calgary, especially those wh

o are vulnerable and living in poverty, have consistent access to healthy, local food. Founded in 2011, we saw our first harvest in 2013. As of May 2021 we are celebrating 8 years in the fight against food-insecurity! We believe in our fundamental rights to access food and shelter. More than that, we view urban agriculture as a feasible, immediate response to food access & food dignity among food-insecure Calgarians living below the poverty line. We donate 100% of the fresh food we grow.

Follow us on instagram/twitter @growcalgary At Grow Calgary, our 30,000 volunteers farmed fresh produce for poor, low income Albertans, helping to ensure all Calgarians had access to fresh, healthy, local food. We were 11 acres on the Transportation Utility Corridor, just West of Canada Olympic Park. Grow Calgary was founded in 2009 and we started farming in the spring of 2013. Grow Calgary is Canada’s largest Community Farm. We think everyone is entitled to a healthy diet and view urban farming as a feasible, immediate response to food access amongst Calgarians. We focus on providing fresh, chemical free, nutrient-dense, local produce to those for whom it may not be accessible, affordable, or available. That is why we donate all harvested food directly to Social Agencies with Food Access Programs.
